It's a big plot spoiler to really talk about. Reading up on it, though, it doesn't sound like it's permanent. They only disappear while the uh thing is uh happening and once it's not happening anymore they go back to normal.

Stop hogging those Overdrives, make your switches, the game gives you more than enough for necessary blade switches.

I accidentally used one right at the start (I didn't realize they were a limited resource), and used another to get a Healer Blade on Nia, so I currently only have one...

i might end up moving kos mos to nia, and vale and perun back to rex for the sake of elements. it's redundant to have two light elementals on rex, as much as i love kos mos.

and while I'm at it, a few questions about the game's systems.
1. if a monster shows an element with a downwards arrow, that means it's resistant, right? and what triggers it changing to a different element and what determines that element?

2. what is that yellow bar below the characters' health lol. affinity?

3. if the number displaying damage done is light blue or orange, what does that mean

4. why would i ever get more than one or two orbs on an enemy for a chain attack if more than that means i am not going to break any orbs at all

I like talking to NPCs so those ones just came naturally for me. I think it allows repeats if you Fast Travel between instances of talking to NPCs.

there is a sidequest for those later to my understanding. There's 11 of them hidden throughout the game. I have 6 so far but not that one :O
