Yeah I definitely get Jewel Thieves vibes from this song! It would be the perfect score to a heist move, and yes that is a pun. At first, I was like, "this is cool and all, but it needs some extra zest" and then 2:30 comes around just takes off with some extremely good playing. The sax definitely carries this song.

I don't think this really does anything new or exciting but this is just the type of song I love to sit back and just chill out too. The vocals go so welll with the synths and I just feel dreamy, focused, and relaxed for about 5 minutes as this just jams out in the background.

There is definitely some awesomeness going on with the bass and drumming in the chorus, in what I feel is wrapped up in a very accessible pop sheen especially in the vocals. It's not totally my thing but I gotta say it's well done for what it is.

The vocals are sort of reminiscent of Children of Bodom, so not everyone's cup of tea. It's another band that mixes in different instruments, in this case a koto I think? It sounds like an idea that would never work, but I think they executed it about as well as you could expect. The song just really hooked me, and I like the choir at the end.

Luckily, I like CoB vocals so this was right up my alley. The leadwork is insane and the solo at around 3:25 was awesome, really well-played and catchy. The Eastern instrumentation fits the song perfectly and the choir at the end gives the song an epic feeling boost as if we reached the climax of a story. It's really awesome the song is about Yuki-onna too.

I actually have not heard this before despite listening to some Krautrock in the past. Guess I never went that deep into it. Anyway, long songs like this are usually very hit or miss for me, and it's really hard to make a long song like this and keep it entertaining, but these guys certainly do it. I am not nearly proficient enough of a music critic to truly analyze this song and it's various sections but I certainly appreciate all the same. The playing from 10 minutes on is especially superb.

Am I biased? Hell yes I'm biased. This is like THE song from my childhood. It's funky as all hell and the rapid fire verses filled with seeming nonsense still weird me out in the best way possible and make me smile to this very day. I like the juxtaposition between the chaotic verses and the melodic chorus, it gives such a great flow to the song. It's not even my favorite RHCP track or even that close tbh but that won't stop me giving it 100.

Oh man, as someone that has been on the biggest Japanese city pop kick lately, this is god damn amazing. Now I wouldn't say this is really that genre but it still scratches that same sort of itch for me. The violins are epic and jolting, and the piano is moving but at the same time momentum-driving and not downbeat. And Megumi's vocals are so crisp and clean. I just love everything about it.
