I loved A Star is Born 2018. Just the soundtrack alone was one of my favorite albums of that year. What a fantastic mix of hard southern rock and beautifully crafted pop. Black Eyes is incredible, easily my fave song on the soundtrack.

But on top of that, the story was emotionally draining and the chemistry between Gaga and Cooper was just off the charts good.

The only games I need on day one are Resident Evil titles. I'm pretty much good waiting for everything else, one because I don't like to spend a lot of money and two because it's hard to be 100% sure of a particular game's quality on day one.

I thought Smithereens was excellent. I love tense, singular location stories like that. The message was a little ham-fisted admittedly which for some reason ran rampant in Season 5, but everything else was so well done I didn't even mind it.

Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too was okay in a more goofy/comedic sense but I too will agree it probably is the worst episode of the series. Still, I thought it had a decent if over-the-top message about the manipulation and often manufactured image of the music industry.

I liked it a lot at first but it ran out of tricks and surprises about halfway through and kind of bored me for the rest of the duration. The drinking mechanic never really felt like it added much and I think exploration of the world could've felt more vibrant and natural.

00s > 90s > 10s > 80s

I think the the leap in technical advancements at the dawn of the 6th Gen really jumpstarted a period of creativity in gameplay, storytelling, & genre experimentation that continued well into the 7th gen, that I think has been pretty unmatched since.

90s are no slouch either, especially with all the interesting titles constantly coming out on PC at the time. Plus, I just love the aesthetic of blocky PS1/N64 graphics that give those games an undeniably unique charm that makes them a joy to play even if some of the gameplay aspects have been improved since.

The 10s have for sure seen some quality titles but at the same time a lot of the biggest games can tend to feel homogenized. The explosion of the indie scene does make a great case for this decade, however with so many throwback titles, to the 90s in particular, it almost makes the case for me that the 90s do deserve to be higher.

And the 80s were just a mess, but I always find it interesting tracing back genres to the very, very 1st roots and seeing how it has evolved over time. Once again, the PC scene at the time definitely deserves a second glance and serves as a welcome retreat from a lot of NES shovelware.

Probably the original Resident Evil. My first real survival horror experience, not knowing where to go or how to conserve ammo effectively, getting unique scenes I rarely ever seen anymore unless I'm going for them since I just know all the effective routes now. Yeah, experiencing that again would be a sure treat!
