"AI game generators are redefining game development by automating the creation of game elements like characters, environments, and storylines."

You really don't see how this could be a contributing factor to, say, a large, greedy multibillion dollar company laying off 900 employees suddenly to cut costs and increase profit margins?

You seem a bit confused, Torchic.
Yup.
Dumb company: Use AI to reduce costs
Smart company: Use AI to increase production

We are seeing the part of the capitalism cycle where the big companies fail after so many cuts for quick profit. A new crop of companies is forming.

Some of the comments were saying that the parts of the noodles inside the hot dog bits didn't cook, which makes sense because the water couldn't really get to them. I'm sure you could figure that out somehow (most likely thinner slices), but I'd rather just cook the two separately and serve them together.
I make it all the time. It is harder if you don't like your noodles soft. I always cook mine until they are soft so it's not a problem.

That's the point he's making. Far more so than other media, retro games are restricted by the hardware they were released on, outside of comparatively rare ports/remakes that make them accessible with modern stuff, and efforts to pirate stuff that isn't available on modern systems tend to be treated more harshly than pirating other media. Part of that is that the medium is relatively new and nothing is public domain yet (nor will it be for quite some time), but console games in particular have been quite deliberately designed to be accessible for only a very short period of time.
I never noticed. Emulators do a pretty good job of ignoring this problem

I have no idea if you can or can't. Target went out of business in like 6 months or something. I have never seen these consoles in stores and I would never even know if there was a new one. My actual buying process would be to go to walmart, find the big xbox sign, and buy the cheapest one. No idea what I would get.

And it's a little sad that as part of gaming you don't want to learn anything about gaming. I guess that's you, but you already demonstrate you know all the names for xbox, so you have already memorized them.

r5 is higher than fx, it still works.

Let's not use xbox as an example here.

Is the order

Xbox 1, xbox, xbox s1, xboxx, xbox360?

Their naming scheme is beyond terrible. Console boys think this is easier? Really. It's not even bigger number is better, it's literally random.

As someone that doesn't follow consoles, I have no fucking clue about the xbox line anymore. But I can tell you every intel and amd cpu release and nvidia and amd gpu release no problem. It helps that they usually follow bigger number is better rule. Although my 9600gt is far slower than my 6700xt. Wish we didn't reset numbers randomly.

My point is, if this is your hobby, get educated on your hobby.

Your getting older. I have bad news, it gets worse.
Every year your stress builds up and your sleep gets worse. I'm already up to twice a week with a night of no sleep. See your doctor for pills, it's fine. You'll find certain days are worse. Me it's usually Sunday night.
Drinking does not work.
Melatonin makes it worse.
Working out does not work.
Going to bed and waking up at the same time does not work. It actually makes it worse because you panic about going to bed on time and panic when you don't fall asleep then panic that you'll be tired.

According to my mother, this continues until 2 years after you retire, then suddenly it snaps and you finally relax.

The only actual useful trick I have is stop caring. Be like a teenager and stop caring when you fall asleep or wake up. Can't sleep? Whatever, start work at 4am if you can. Or go watch tv. If you can teach yourself to stop worrying about getting sleep, you'll start getting sleep.

Other trick is if you have the 4 notes of a song stuck in your head. Turn on the tv, just loud enough so you can almost make out what is happening. Focus on that noise and try to hear what is happening. It'll stop that maddening song

Some part of that seems wrong.

We know inflation has caused all prices to double since 2012.
Did anyones wage quadruple in these last 12 years? mine didn't.

Based on the spending I see around me, I think I am just considered poor now.

$50? Little high.
Probably $20 is the right number right now.

But minimum wage causes inflation to rise even faster. So it's a tricky balance.

Basically our economy only works as long as half are suffering in poverty.

I suppose you could tax the mega rich so hard that they earn the same as everyone else, but that has different problems then.

So maybe the quick solution, if you openly support dictators, your taxes are raised to 99.99999%. Call it the treason tax. So only Musk, Trump, etc have to pay it basically. And we end poverty overnight

Solarians is the usual go-to for any sci-fi story that uses Sol as our star's name, and then extrapolates a race name from it.

The real problem is that, if you do that, you're working from a flawed assumption. Sure, we might call a race from the Vega system Vegans or Vegarans or something. But that's because we're basing our name for them on our name for their star.

If there are aliens out there who would name us after our star (as opposed to our planet, or some other defining trait), they'd be naming us that after their name for our star. Which almost certainly isn't "Sol".

Meanwhile, it doesn't make much sense for us to call ourselves after our sun, because a) most of us don't call it "Sol" either, and b) because it feels much more natural to call ourselves after our planet.
But maybe future time we live on more planets in our Sol system. So we'd name ourselves after our system.
Also based on our trajectory Earth will be destroyed

I used to pay a shop. But I got sick if how horrible of a job they did.
One literally spilled oil, then used a garden hose on the top of the motor to wash it. Needless to say the engine stopped running right, 3 out of 6 cylinders stopped firing. Thankfully drying it out fixed it but that was the last straw.
That's when I noticed all the stripped bolts. That plastic cover on the bottom of cars now? Hopeless, only 3 out of 9 bolts still worked because if these people. I had to thread new holes and resort to Christmas tree clips instead. One car leaks oil from damage to the oil plug.

In short, do it yourself if you can. My father has a car lift, so that makes it really easy for me.
Do not use a car jack and go under your car. I've lost 2 friends to that.

As for brake pads. If drum brakes, pay someone for it. They are a pain in the ass.
If disk brakes, do it yourself. Literally 3 bolts. I've been quoted $500 per wheel. Fuck that.

Pluto orbits Charon and together they orbit the sun. That's the only part of the definition of a plant that kind of makes sense and why Pluto doesn't count anymore. But Eris is even bigger than Pluto. It should be a planet and Pluto should be the same as Ceres.

Also at this point calling a planet a dwarf should be offensive. It's a little planet.

I only really play Civ 6 or the sims 4 on my PC and never had a problem with choppy graphics since building this in June last year. But recently Ill fire up a game and after about 2-3 mins the graphics are choppy as hell and the frame rate drops on most games.

I have a 3070Ti that I think could be overheating, is this likely to be the problem? My case has two fans at the front and one at the back, but none at all at the top. Is this what makes the difference you think?

Ive updated all my drivers, Ive checked for cryptominer viruses and all seems okay. Tbh I even checked the temp on GPUz and it seemed normal, think it was 54C or something cant remember.

If its not the overheating what could it be?
Check your GPU and CPU temps while gaming.
Install hwinfo. Run it in sensors only mode. Leave it minimized and go play your game until it starts having a problem. Hwinfo will keep track of all the temp sensors and will show if any showed overheating. It keeps a record of this so even if you close the game it keeps what your max temps were.
Also I suggest posting this on the PC board. You might get better responses than potd which is a joke social board

It is actually the opposite. They want to get out of the hardware business and into the "game service" business. Microsoft buying up a bunch of studios is just a way for them to push XBox Game Pass by making games available on that. If they could make XBox Game Pass for Playstation, they would in a heartbeat. Sony won't allow it though, so in the meantime they will just release the games on Playstation as traditional physical/digital releases.
Yup I agree, which is why I think we will see an xbox app on Linux one day.
they won't stop with the xbox though, it will be a cheap media computer for accessing microsoft services like gaming.

Curious too. I was told combo exercises are the best.
I had a 90 year old weight lifting acquaintance, he showed me a bunch of basic exercises for shoulders and stuff using them.
Like basic stuff like hold them in your hands by your side, then rotate and lift your shoulders.
The guy was ripped even for 90 years old. He told me he spends 6 hours a day in the gym to try and keep up the body he had when he was young and a butcher.
Another basic one is to make like your skiing or rowing, with weights in each hand row forwards with one and backwards with the other, with one leg forward. Do reps, then switch the forward leg and do it again. Totally normal to need more weight in your dominate hand.

At this point, third-party exclusivity is generally either a matter of an exclusivity deal that forces it or a studio being so small that they can't devote the resources to ports. Bethesda is no longer a third party for Microsoft, though, so producing exclusive titles for the sake of selling systems is to be expected (provided they can actually produce a system-seller, since between Redfall and Starfield they've been kind of struggling in that regard).
And fallout 76.
It's actually been since 2011 since they have released a great game. Unless you include Fallout 4, in which case it has been 9 years. Pretty crazy to think about it. 9 years without a success.
