It's hard to say, but no I don't feel his names comes up a lot nowadays. Or as much as it should.
He was amazing. Truly at one with the guitar. His rendition of the US national anthem may be my favourite. He actually captures the violence of the song.

Having said that, he might have an Acid Rock thing going on that goes over some peoples heads nowadays.
But, no, certainly not, he will not be forgotten.

If anything, someone will do a bio-pic on him, then everyone will watch say he was amazing, and they always loved him. ~That's how things seem to work in this day.

Side note again: All Quiet on the Western Front does have a sequel as well.
It's titled The Road Back. I have that as well, in hardcover.
Not pushing that. But few people know there was a sequel.

The Brothers Karamazov is Heavy. I had to read it twice to understand it.

I'm reading Briggs translation for War and Peace. If I read Brothers I'd probably read McDuff. However you said it was a heavy read. Kinda want to go lighter next time. So i'm leaning towards All is Quiet.

Ya Brothers is deep. The whole time through reading the first time, I kept thinking. "Where is he going with all this" But once I finished it I kinda knew. So, the second time around it made more sense.

All Quiet is a bit more straightforward. But still a great classic. The fact that is written from the Germain point of view makes it that much better. Plus, imo WWI doesn't get enough love as it is.

The field test only exists for them to use against you in prosecution. It's biased and subjective. If you're doing the field test you will almost certainly be asked for the breath test afterward no matter how you do.

Ya, it's total BS. I can't say the alphabet backwards at any point...if they still use that.
And believe me, my mom died in a single-car crash, no alcohol involved, probably fell asleep.
So, I understand road safety. But the militant anti-DUI shit is often unreasonable.

Having said that, I live in a party town and I'm not sure how there are not at least 100 arrests a week.

I agree with what you are saying. But in my personal experience, they get quite a bit of respect.
I live in a Horse Town, I know and have many Horse People. Some are super dedicated.
Though others just see them as money. There should be fines when a horse is put down in racing.

I never have seen War Horse though. It would probably make me cry.
