Oilers have looked better for sure (certainly better than their opening, at least), but I'd put the biggest share of the blame for the Hawks on Crawford directly.

Crawford has been a tad shaky throughout the season. He was almost getting back into form before The Pause but there's just no way he could be close to form after he's been recovering from covid.

I don't think Nomura is writing the Eden story. He's only listed on the 5.2 Patch site as the character designer for Gaia, in contrast to Copied Factory that explicitly lists Yoko Taro as a guest creator.

Awakening is the most natural feeling of the "dating sim" aspects. In Fates it feels shoe-horned in and in Three Houses they deliberately toned it down.

I generally don't like when there's a silent protagonist in a clear narrative focused game where there's no choices to be made. At that point, it comes off as lazy. I can cut some slack to games that try to inject personality into the silent protagonist like the Mario RPGs and Persona games. I'm with Leon, the Persona games are the gold standard.

Another funny side effect of going through the FF14 expansions is make me realize how utterly worthless Byleth is as a silent protagonist in Three Houses. Holy hell is the FF14 WoL miles better in terms of characterization and Shadowbringers just makes that contrast even more stark.

Basically, IntSys should never do a silent protagonist for Fire Emblem ever again.

I did Holminster, Dohn, and Malikah's via Trust Finder and Qitana via Duty Finder.

I like the concept of the Trust dungeons lore wise. Actual execution, well it's slower than the usual Duty Finder. Good way to learn where to stand for mechanics though!

On the final quest of the main Stormblood MSQ.

I can see where some of the complaints about the narrative being a bit uneven are coming from. For a story built on the premise of liberating Ala Mhigo, there's arguably more focus on freeing Doma than anything else. The Steppes was a little too padded out, especially that ridiculous Magnai section. Once you're back to focusing on Ala Mhigo, you're suddenly a few steps away from the final showdown with Zenos.

Zenos has been charming as a villain at least.
