Not quite. Before it was replacing bodies with bodies for the menial work. Farm machinery made farming easier and those left behind moved to assembly line. As assembly lines got more advance those left behind went into service, such as trucking. We're at a point now where bodies are being replaced by computers and there's nowhere in the foreseeable future where the menial bodies can go.

Automation has been happening for the past 400 years and the unemployment rate has stayed about the same. Turns out, automation leads to newer, more sophisticated jobs.

And once literally everything imaginable is automated, we're then living in a world without scarcity, and neither Capitalism nor Socialism would work. (Well, socialism doesn't work regardless, but you get what I mean)

I actually think changing your opinion about ICE because of this is going the emotional route. Like, who logically thinks these protestore are against sex rings. Assuming they are, and therefore the whole movement is, because of something like this is highly emotional and shows lack of thinking about what abolish ICE really means.

Do you think that maybe this deep-seated hatred for ICE had gone a little far, though? Why did these people only suddenly start caring about how they keep adults and kids in separate facilities when it's been happening ever since the Flores decision in 2009?

tl;dw: ICE successfully arrest a number of juvenile sex traffickers. This angered about 30 local residents, for some reason, and they wrote things like "We Love Our Neighbors" in chalk and protested against the arrest of human scum.

Imagine being so indoctrinated with the message that ICE is evil that you would prefer children get kidnapped and raped rather than allow ICE to do their jobs.

Just because a character is strong doesn't negate their weaknesses. Luke even said he got arrogant and just assumed that he would be this amazing awesome Jedi Master teaching a new crop of Jedi apprentices. He didn't even think about someone being able to infiltrate his thoughts.

I almost feel like the movie does a great job of showing that even a heroic figure can have failures and faults. It's also incredibly reflective of the weaknesses of his father. You can argue that Luke should have learned from those mistakes and overcome them, but then you get into Mary Sue territory like they did in the Extended Universe where he was almost a god.

It doesn't matter, because "Mary Sue" and "child killer" aren't the only two options here.

Being better than the prequels is nothing to cheer about.

And yes, it absolutely ruined space battle logic. If you could always destroy multiple Star Destroyers by ramming a ship into them at hyperspace, then why did no one ever think to kamikaze droid-controlled ships at enemy battlestations before? That would have made the Battle of Yavin really easy, wouldn't it? And since it's such a useful tactic that was used in the previous film, we should expect everyone to be doing that in Star Wars 9, right?

Luke Skywalker was the guy who multiple times stood face-to-face with the second most evil guy in the galaxy, the guy who cut off his hand, who kidnapped Leia, who killed his friends, and insisted there was still some good inside him. And in the end, he was right for believing that when Vader turned on the Emperor.

But in the NT, when Luke thinks that his nephew is going to turn to the dark side, he tries to murder the kid in his sleep.

I don't know about you, but that was just about the best way you could take a character who once stood for hope and make him completely unlikable.
