TopicHow important is the diversity of the company that creates your entertainment?
Sansoldier

Voted kinda important. Usually, it doesn't matter, but it helps in these areas:

  1. Character creator options, especially with hair and skin tones.
  2. Character writing (human world). Unless you're really experienced, it'll be tough writing well developed characters of the opposite gender. Not many games are all that story focused, so it doesn't typically matter. Same with modern settings - It would be nice to have someone from the story setting, or the staff has contacts with someone who is.
  3. Having people from all walks of life may make the game more well rounded. In America, racial identity is a pretty important part of this, but I'm certain it's quite different in other countries. Even non-gamers providing valuable input would be helpful, since many of us may take for granted systems that may turn others off.
Higher diversity has a greater chance of allowing different voices be heard. Some people may have some great ideas that can enhance the game.

I think that you should take notes about what comes easiest and hardest to you in terms of learning content, and try to pursue those methods that naturally come easier.

Very few things feel more hopeless than bashing your head against the wall with an incompatible learning method.

You may need to do problems over and over until you figure out a pattern. You may need an infographic, speech, an activity/app, or learn the reasoning and base concepts before you can learn how they're applied.

Sometimes when I feel this way, it originates from a feeling that there's no point in doing it, or that it won't do much.

If you can provide a similar amount of information with less pain/work, then I recommend doing that. Infographics, spreadsheet, and automation would help reduce that monotony if possible.

They should fail. The people that made up the companies would still exist. The void will be filled by (potentially) better companies.

Support should be saved for things such as natural disasters, where other people would receive support as well.

$100k is a heck of a lot.

-No need to live frugally
-Can own a home with cars and support a family
-Can cover basic necessities and luxuries

What it can't do is really allow that excessive of a lifestyle. You can buy nice things, but you're more incentivized to allocate as much as you can for investments.

Even so, it's a great thing to be able to live comfortably.

Sansoldier

The ending of the first post is funny.

But the fact is, the way landlording works makes no sense for just about any other product when landlording doesn't inherently offer any sort of service. The service that home management companies offer can easily be offered to the actual owner of the home without the landlord middleman.

It doesn't make sense to take out a car loan, make someone else pay for that amount or more, then have the car afterwards. Same with books, dumbbells, games, humidifiers, or whatever good or trinket.

There is no tangible benefit for the tenant to rent when prices are high (at mortgage level or higher) and no specific service provided that can't directly be provided to the tenant directly without them.

Late 2000s, early 2010s. Internet and computers were too slow on average in the early 2000s.

It became worse when forums died, bots became normalized, and social media began providing more extremist content.

Right now is still really great for certain things. It's still good for getting involved with smaller, specialized communities. *Certain information is also easily accessible compared to the past.

I think it'll be tough, though having 1-2 main meals a day instead of 3 may help. It depends on how easily you get hungry.

I can go all day without eating much and feel just fine, so I suppose it depends on the person. I eat whenever I feel hungry, and try not to eat until I'm completely full, but instead until I am simply not hungry anymore.

I was expecting them to go more into depth about male body standards. Instead, they just complain about overweight people and women for most of that time.

From what I understand, most male protagonists have achievable body forms. There are just a few roided outliers that are obviously not achievable. Not even going into unrealistic proportions simply stemming from its artstyle.

It's also much rarer to find men who want to have the exact unrealistic forms of certain superheroes. They get close enough.

Math is often times unnecessarily rigid and obtuse. Word problems are commonly explained in ways that don't make too much sense. You just memorize a bunch of things that provide no value to every day life, then you forget it all shortly after passing the class.

Contextualizing what is being taught and leading students to better understanding of the uses for what they are learning would be much better.

If you're fine with minimalist story and a strong, "open-world" dungeon crawler. It's more gameplay-focused than even prior entries in the series, with more effort prioritized on exploration.

It's been the most balanced entry I've experienced so far, with multiple viable strats for building your character and demon entourage.

There are occasional frame dips while exploring, but it hasn't personally affected my experience. Battles remain smooth -- You can skip the initial animations of your attacks, which is fast enough, but I wish it could skip the pause after damaging the enemy as well.

I don't think I've ever even been in a situation where I needed to split evenly that wasn't sharing food.
If food is shared, such as appetizers, the ones who got it splits. Otherwise, you pay for what you ordered.

If somehow the servers didn't keep track of what each order was and grouped them together, I suppose it would be easier to split in that case.

TopicDo peopleWho hate centrists really think it's a neutral position?
Sansoldier
10/12/21 8:49:04 PM
#333
I thought I was centrist until I formed more concrete political opinions. The stances are too extreme.

It's either anti-abortion or pro-choice (any moderate view for abortion is seen as pro-choice)
Any moderate view to increase gun control is seen as left.
Any moderate view to increase taxes for the rich, who disproportionately pay lower taxes, is seen as left.

There are binary choices where it doesn't make sense to put them on the same pedestal (segregation vs. desegregation. Gay Marriage vs. anti-Gay Marriage)

Trans rights. Is the centrist idea that they should get bathrooms, but be banned from Olympics/sports?

Then you have crazy things like vaccines, social distancing, and masks. I suppose the moderate view is masks with no vaccine, or you have the vaccine and you don't need masks, but it's not seen like that right now.

I think that it can be applied to very few things that are non-binary, such as choices for healthcare and schools, though there are concerns about who primarily benefits and who are hurt by these choices.
