That still doesn't answer TC's question though. This was the decade that gave us Cindy Crawford, Denise Richards, and Lola Bunny (the big 3 as it were) and I refuse to believe there were people back then that were attracted to that blob of polygons over the big 3 or any other girl of the decade. It just doesn't compute.

Im one of the few that actually remember the events of the war with the greys. I know there are a handful of us on here.

I still cant believe the Chinese pulled off that Hail Mary attempt that won the war from the grips of certain annihilation.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened had more people kept their memories of the final few days but maybe its for the best they didnt. At least they can sleep at night without nightmares of the 2am harvestings and forced testing of the hybrid alien atmosphere generators.

Ive already said too much. But if you know you know. Those of us that do remember have a bond unlike anything to ever exist. To carry the burden of knowing the events of those dark times and what fate nearly happened. God I wish I was one of the lucky ones to not remember but it was a sacrifice worth making and without the few that remained clear the truce never would have been possible. Its just a shame we had to agree to compromise to send 12 people to the greys every decade for testing but its a small price to pay. Cant believe its almost been 10 years already.

At least us clears are immune from the exchange.

Is there more to mothra coming back or was it just a bit hand wavey? I thought mothra died in king of the monsters. Yeah I appreciate these sorts of films arent really geared up for scrutiny and you need to leave your brains at the doors and Im all up for that. I just wondered if I missed something.

Basically where you spent the entire time realising you arent strong enough to beat them and they are some sort of cataclysmic being who seems unbeatable? Id include the water entity from FF legends 3 as well.

Not including guys like Jenova who you fight multiple times and beat multiple times.

One of the reasons I loved FFX was a lot of the boss fights felt like puzzles you had to solve rather than straight up stat checks.

If it hadnt been billed as a system seller and spent the best part of two decades in development I think it would have fared better. A lot of the hate was purely because it didnt live up to the hype. Its also living off the coat tails of Skyrim which is more than a decade old and considered one of the GOAT games. Start field did nothing to improve on Skyrim. In fact it was worse in a lot of ways. Itd the same game / engine weve been playing since FO3. More of the same just isnt going to cut it anymore.

I get making games online only at launch and then removing it after a year or so. Beat the pirates but dont fuck over your real fans when the game has been out for a while. As long as its done in a way that doesnt interfere. Like make it so you only have to be online once then can go offline for a week or whatever to stop people who travel etc not being impacted.

You cant download them anymore. Some of them got released again on Switch so Nintendo know exactly what they were doing.

FF7 Re* is one of the few. Ill generally play first blind then look up some cool builds and play again. Plus NG+ has a load of content unlocked. Rebirth in particular because I have a load of side content Ive not done yet.

Godzilla x Kong. Loved it. I know its not everyones cup of tea but cant beat a bit of monster on monster beefy action.

Only part I didnt like was the whole tribe thing and specifically they are telepathic. Weird I can suspend my disbelief for giant monkeys and Godzilla eating nuclear plants etc. Even the hulk buster style gauntlet they put on Kong. But yeah telepathy I cant. Its just dumb.

Also was it confirmed... who did the big hand print when the lady said thats not kong cause felt like that happened in the area the evil monkeys didnt know about at that stage.

Honestly they should've just bundled it with Diablo 2 or something. Diablo 1 is so barebones/short in comparison it could've just been a bonus thing. Practically the Demon's Souls to Dark Souls anyway.

Id have been happy if theyd bundled it with D2 tbh. But as they didnt Id be happy with a full release.

Does Rebirth follow the same story path as the original or does it deviate to include other games or something? Where in the story does Rebirth end?

it hits the main story beats. Corel. Junon. Gold Saucer. Cosmo canyon. It also extends some such as gongara.

the last main area of the game is the temple of the ancients with a small final section at the forgotten capital where... you know what... happens.

The main divergence from the OG is the last chapter. I dont really understand it enough to explain it accurately. Ill just say multiple worlds / time lines. Aeris is dead but not dead. Zack makes an appearance. Sephiroth transcends this world and you some how battle him across multiple time lines at once.

oh and at the end no one can see Aerith but cloud. Is she dead and hes imagining it? Is she a ghost only cloud can see? Who knows. Find out more in part three!

Hey TC. Is this the first time your realised world politics is full of hypocrisy and double standards?

It was long but outside of the last boss and the very last part of it when hes charging up his Octo slash I didnt find it that tough. The wing part was a bit gimmicky but apart from that I didnt really struggle at all.

Ill add in FF Re* when you are the last one left alive on a boss with zero atb and no health and the summon finally kicks in and saves the day.

Sometimes things happen beyond your control. If its your fault I still feel sorry for them but they have to take responsibility for their tardyness. Its not blank and white. I almost missed a flight in Sofia because a taxi failed to turn up and we ended up waiting three hours for another one as it was a public holiday. So I understand sometimes shit happens.

Just completed it. What did you think about the game in the following categories?

Music - Phenomenal. Such nostalgia. FVII really is about the music for me. Hits that little switch in my head that makes me well up. My only downside was I was disappointed in the Cosmo Canyon theme. It felt a bit lack lustre and didnt really hit a high.

Battles - Really good. Fluid and lots of customization to be had. Each character actually felt different. The only one o didnt enjoy the Cait Sith but maybe I didnt give him much of a chance.

Story - Loved it. Kept to the main beats of the OG. Was happy to get the nibelheim flashback out of the way at the start as Ive seen it so many times in various guises I was actually dreading it. Felt they rushed Temple of the Ancients > Lost Capital. Was it that quick in the OG?

Ending - Meh. I know a lot of people were annoyed at the ending but I liked it. Intrigued to see where it goes. Unsure if I feel the last few bosses were just too much or not. I did them all first time apart from the last battle when he fucks you up at the end when down to low health. Finally just kept a limit break to finish him off.

World Map / Side Quests - Really enjoyed the open maps at first. 100% Initial area and Junon. Then for whatever reason got a bit bored. Skipped through the rest of the areas. Loved the car game and plenty of content to get through to 100% it. Will probably go through the areas and clear them out soon.

Probably give it 8/10. Would have gotten 9/10 but it was a bit too long for me and some parts were a slog. I.E. Costa Del Sol.
