Yeah, "just" get a job that isn't actual work. What other bright ideas do you have? "Just" win the lottery?

maybe you're just lazy and/or aren't good at what you love doing.

most people i know who are moderately well-off (mentally and financially) work part or full time at a basic job (food industry, insurance, etc) and do other creative pursuits on the side.

Every job is work, ya silly goose. It just depends on whether you actually enjoy it. Much like the age old saying 'Imagine Sisyphus happy' ya dig?

Also I like how you imply that my ideas are bad but don't say anything to add, reflect upon, or constructively critique and instead decide to be immature. Stay gold, ponyboy

I'm very good at what I'm doing, which is the problem. I get bored at my job. You, on the other hand, must find basic things challenging, so you're constantly engaged. It's called work, "ya silly goose", most times you're not going to enjoy it. I do work on the side, but it sucks when my regular job takes up so much time.

There is nothing to add to your stupid idea because it's an oft-repeated unoriginal cliche of "follow your dreams" bullshit that morons eat up while running on their hamster wheel of futility, continuing to "have faith" in this idiotic bullshit. Hey, whatever keeps them from realizing how pointless the rat race is, gotta keep that productivity up for their corporate masters.

If you're so good at what you do and it's beneath you, why not find a more challenging job? There's always something more challenging out there. You aren't the smartest person on the face of the Earth.

The fear over widespread automation is always the same, and it goes back hundreds if not thousands of years.

"We're gonna lose our jobs! Half of society will become unemployed overnight!"

"Automation has happened before, but never like THIS! This time it's going to be different!"

Guess what, no matter how much stuff we are producing in the economy, we can produce more. We can keep adding value to products and services. That's why the economy manages to still keep trucking along every time machines replace people. The machines replace the people, and now business owners can hire people to do something else to add value that machines currently aren't capable of doing. That way businesses have the machines doing everything that was being done before PLUS the benefit of humans doing a little more. So not only are humans still being employed in that situation, but the products/services they are offering are getting better, too. the That's why automation is win-win for society.

It reaches and end point eventually. And we are at that end point.

The only response at this point is to pay people large sums of money to sit around and waste oxygen

Lol nope.

Does that mean you get paid even if you don't work? That doesn't sound smart

12,000 a year is not enough to live on, sure some can make it work but that income is pretty much a housing voucher that distributes power to the lower class which make up the majority of the people in this country. You'd have to be a sadist to oppose it imo

So

$12,000 * 325,000,000 people = $3,900,000,000,000 a year

Where does the money come from?

Go watch more videos by him. Our welfare program already takes care of most of it, plus you're including a lot of people who wouldn't qualify like illegals and underage/overage people. It's more like 2 trillion to be honest, and he's proposing a value added tax on large corporations much like Bernie wanted to tax Wallstreet.

So more taxing productive people to enable people like this guy
