Not going to post my wishlist anymore because I really shouldn't be trying to abuse all your generosity, but I just wanted to post some pics I took of the game I was gifted, Endless Space 2, just because I want to and some of you might like it.

It's a space 4x game, so close to Stellaris in feel but it's turn based like Civ is. But the main thing that sets the game apart is how different the few factions you do get to play with are.

Say hi to the faction of mecha-insects that need to expand out in a reasonable time-frame or all the values of what they produce go way down, basically making them into ticking time bombs. As a result of their need to expand ever outwards or literally eat themselves alive, they often get into wars with their neighbors. In fact it's really the only option they have, as they're very limited on when they can even make peace deals in the first place.

Yay for me, for they spawned right next to me on my first playthrough. /s

Ship builder to build ships in, along with ship combat that involve selecting a tactic to employ before going into combat.

And finally, a picture of the rather beautiful homeworld of the United Empire (The game's most balenced and diverse faction. To the point that one of the quest in the faction's main questline allows you to change their very population type, allowing them a degree of ability to change their own focus that no other faction can do).

If it's anything to keep in mind, then it may not be a perfect adaption of the game as a whole. Or maybe even go off on it's own tangents by Yoko Taro's will. I looked around a bit and saw that the anime staff working on it left these notes.

So Yoko Taro changed something in it. No clue how small or big said changes are, though knowing Yoko Taro it may not be outside the realm of possibility that this will indeed be changed to be some kind of unexpected happy side-story or alternate plot to the game's story. He's crazy enough to do something like that if he wants lol.

I figured that was a risky pick based on the show's tone. I was thinking of waiting for the dub on that one anyways, so if it has moments that would be beyond my gore tolerance, you guys can warn me about them in advance. Or if there's too many of them, I would just not watch it.

I don't think they mean the gore things (outside of one or two things over the course of the game, I don't recount all that much beyond the usual stuff like limb dismemberments that would be clear things that would trigger your gore aversion. But there is some still), I think that the main point they're talking about is how downright depressing the game is.

Take it from someone that played the game, outside of ending E...the game starts somewhat rough but hopeful in tone but then rather quickly goes into some extremely bleak situations that gets even bleaker as the game goes on. Like route C just is utterly depressing in tone with no bright spots to pick you back up at and all the characters are made to suffer throughout it. I believe you like upbeat stuff but hate outright depressing stuff, so I thought that this would be good to inform you about as well.

I would really love to get Endless Space 2 if able. I put a massive amount of time as it was into Endless Legend because it was fun.
