Of course Venom is the protagonist... Eddie Brock is the only choice they have for a good guy without Spider-Man (because god forbid they be forced to use Black Cat). He was a hero for a long time in the comics. Still is, I think. Thing is, how will he get the suit without Spider-Man? Random goop from space gets on him and gives him spider-man powers with no explanation? Will they use J. Jonah Jameson Jr. the astronaut? ...will it have the original J.J. in it? Is Eddie even a reporter in this?

But it was clear that when he was in that room it was a tough decision. But he was glad he did it, which I guess makes him not so remorseful. Similar to killing Krazy 8.

Still, it is definitely an important thing he thinks about a lot. The reference in Fly is one thing, but the fact that he uses it as THE megaton to drop on Jesse, the person he hated the most at that moment, proves that he realizes it's one of the worst and most cruel things he's ever done, which he continues to carry with him.

It was just the most terrible thing he ever did directly to Jesse that Jesse didn't already know about. And he knew it would crush him too.

I live in the deep south. I know a million people who have the confederate flag (displayed outside their home, on shirts, etc.) and they all say "The War of Northern Aggression" (which is literally what they call the Civil War here) was about states rights and its all about southern pride and heritage. Which is why the KKK isn't so bad here either, it's all tied into Southern Pride and Heritage. They're all also racists dickbags, no exceptions. They hate Nikki Haley here for taking down the flag and I've heard "well now she's somewhere she can take down a lot of flags!" as a joke fifty thousand times. But as much as they hate black people here, they hate the North tens of thousand times more. It's like the war just happened yesterday for some of them. They hate people from the north, they hate Northern ideas trying to tell them what to do, they especially hate having to adapt to laws they did in the North first. Anyone with a yankee accent or too far over to the left or too high up on the map. So these people Corrik is defending would hate his guts.
