It's objectively the UK with Brexit.

You can vote trump out in 2 years or he's gone at most in 6 years.

If the UK leaves, the only way to ever rejoin the EU would be to do so on much worse terms. It is something we will never recover from.

Opinion 2: We need our guns to resist tyrannical governments

Which wiki? The one you linked to, doesn't say that.

First paragraph
A toast sandwich is a sandwich made with two slices of bread in which the filling is a thin slice of heavily buttered toast.[1][2] An 1861 recipe says to add salt, pepper and cumin to taste.[1]

That says there's a recipe from then, not that it was invented then.

Why do people always bring up knives in the UK whenever mass shootings in America is the topic?

You're attempting to compare gang related stabbings (of which there seems to be a high amount) to random, innocent people being shot by maniacs. They are not comparable in the slightest.

Well the argument often goes that "restricting gun access would reduce the number of people killed", so why would you consider it a deflection to look at countries with more restrictive gun access to see if their murder rates are lower? It seems like a pretty clear case of "let's look at the evidence before making a decision" to me.

Also, there's lots of gang related shootings in the US, too, just like there's random innocent people who get stabbed. The comparisons are reasonable enough if you're talking policy on a national level.

Also keep in mind that I actually support reasonable gun control policy. I just wanted to chime in on this because I don't think calling out knife crime in the UK is as much a deflection as you would imply.

You compare gangs to gangs and maniacs going on sprees to maniacs going on sprees, you aren't making any kind of relevant point if you compare number of gang on gang murders in country X to number of innocents murdered by maniacs in country Y.

You may as well compare muggings to tax evasion.

You can also drive your own legally owned car into a bunch of kids. You can look up online and methodically make a bunch of bombs from easily obtainable materials. You can make a bunch of poison cookies and serve them out. You can grab a knife and stab people. There are a multitude of ways to commit mass murder. Guns being the easiest to use is not the fault of the guns. Better gun control is fine if it's reasonable, but acting like guns are the problem fixes nothing.

People still murder people so may as well make it legal!!!!

Tax the shit out of consumables that cause the problems.

For example, here in the UK, smoking actually makes our health care system a profit by a few billion (even when you factor in costs for smoking related illnesses). This is also despite the percentage of the population who smoke are one of the lowest percentages we've ever had.
