You can feel for what they were and recognize how they got to the point of becoming a villain, but evil is evil in this case. You can have grey areas where neither side is right in some works, but it's pretty damn clear he wanted violence for the sake of violence. |

The idea that some races are plagued by evil influences is part of what makes roleplaying a good version particularly interesting, so trying to take away characteristics seems counterproductive. Like half of the Drizzt books are about him dealing with those things. It's one thing to slowly change the races through divine influences like I think they've been doing with dark elves, but another just to rewrite existing lore to make themselves feel good. |

You can have a fully established script and have it be torn to pieces after two years of backend shit. That's probably where a lot of bad movies come from. The rest are people with a lot of money and no talent who bruteforce their garbage into existence. |
