I bought a year last August and regretted it. Most of the big monthly games came to PS+ a couple of months later, so it was completely redundant if you also have that service. The only real value is in the PS3 games, but there is still a bit of lag so it's not the ideal way to play them and honestly there weren't a ton I was interested in. The last few months have been good, and I'm glad I get to try Ghostrunner before my subscription runs out, but I don't ever see myself coming back.

Edit: Another thing that annoyed me is that a lot of games, like The Last of Us, have a streamable PS3 version but not the remastered PS4 version. And more recently, only the PS4 version of a game is available when both PS4 and PS5 versions exist. So you constantly feel like you're getting an inferior experience. And this is just a personal thing but I always feel some sort of pressure to finish a game faster when I know a game is like, leaving in a few weeks that makes the experience less enjoyable.

Every fighting game looks bland to me compared to Strive now lol

The entire mainline Ace Attorney series is available, and DD and SoJ are exclusive. One of my favorite series of all time.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate can get you hooked for hundreds of hours, a bit dated compared to newer entries but still a great game

Rhythm Heaven Megamix is sooo good, digital only but one of the best games on the system imo. WarioWare Gold is also great.

Also there's a bunch of SMT games that are all good, I like IV. And I remember having a blast with Kid Icarus Uprising. The online is probably dead, but the story mode is definitely still worth checking out.

I still barely have a grasp on what amiibos are. So they're like toy figurines, the kind those anime geeks buy, only with a bar code that can be scanned by the switch controller?

Like how the e-reader was back in the gba days only they're actual toys you can play with? Or just for display?

So essentially you'd have to buy the toy... to get the feature? It can't be something like a digital download, like a DLC pack the way other companies nickel and dime gamers?

Not only do you have to buy the toy to get the feature, every time you want to use the feature you have to scan the toy on top of that

I got Demons Souls new for $45 on eBay at launch, and I don't think the digital version has even gone on sale yet. So basically you spend a bit more upfront with disc PS5 to save big in the long run.

Yeah, I needed a wireless headset and almost got the Pulse just because it looks cool haha. I did some research and ended up splurging on the Audeze Penrose. They sound fantastic but are probably overkill if you only plan on using them for gaming. I got them as an all-purpose kind of thing, since I've never owned an "audiophile" pair of headphones before it's nice to have something good I can use for music and stuff too.

It seems like almost everything related to my hobbies is getting scalped nowadays, it sucks. I mean Nintendo related stuff has always been bad but not like this

Sort of, but at least on PS5 there actually is code specifically for the pulse headset, which is why it uses a proprietary dongle.

There's no hardware within the headset that would give it an advantage in respect to the 3D sound, it's just a standard stereo headset. That code is probably just for compatibility features like adjusting game chat balance from the headset (something I can't do with my wireless headset, even though there's a dial for it, for example). Unless they're purposefully neutering the 3D audio for non-Pulse headsets to make the Pulse seem better lol

Goddamn it why must you do this to me? Just bought a new headset for my XSX and saw the Pulse 3D and was tempted to buy for the PS5. Then I thought "no, your wireless headset from last gen still works just fine." Literally last night.

I am to impulsive not to buy now.

I mean, the 3D audio is all software-based and "calculated" on the PS5 before the audio is even sent to the headset, so it'll work with any headset. Your last gen one is probably still fine, the Pulse doesn't have any advantage in that regard.

There's actually an entire anime series called Canaan based on that. But yeah, it's a completely different vibe and I didn't really dig it.

It never clicked for me. Maybe it's it the nonlinear narrative, but none of the scenes really had any weight or tension to me because you're always lacking context. Probably also the fact that the entire narration is done through voiced dialog. With visual novels you get all of that extra novely narration, but this is just like watching anime without the animation...the art looks really nice and the voice acting is also pretty great but it still ends up feeling kind of stilted.

I really wanted to like it but honestly I just don't understand the praise. I went in expecting to enjoy the story and suffer through the strategy sections but ended up experiencing the opposite lol.

Oh I should probably do that, Kodaka and Uchikoshi haven't let me down yet
