Honestly my main problem with the boost games is that Sonic just controls like absolute shit during the 2D sections. Otherwise they're fun enough

Been waiting for these to build my first gaming PC. Sad theres no 70. Might go for the 4080 12GB but even thats a bit pricy. Does it seem like a worthy upgrade over the 3000 line or should I just pick up one of those for cheaper once these launch?

Yeah Ive heard its closer to Octo Expansion which was great so Im excited to jump into it. Ive been too busy grinding to get to level 10 to unlocked ranked that I havent even tried the single player

Havent played the mobile version specifically but its a really fun game. There is a bunch of variety between all of the different episodes. Some of the later ones unfortunately do seem to rely too heavily on luck but overall Id still recommend it

The sloppy-ish aiming worked fine in 7 because the enemies in that game were slower, but in a more actiony game like 8 the aiming/shooting just felt bad. The fact that nobody seems to care about the Mercenaries mode reflects this. 4 worked because the action was arcadey and felt good.

The game takes inspiration from 4 without understanding why those things worked in other areas too. Like, there's the Tetris inverntory but I never once actually had to manage it because I always had enough space to pick up anything.

Ultimately the game wants to be a lot of things but doesn't really nail any of them. It's kind of like 6 in that regard, but unlike 6 it's still a decent game despite everything.

Trying to figure that out. Leaning towards the maids right now but kinda intimidated about learning a dual character.

Have you tried some of the very easy-medium difficulty combos from her dustloop page? Those tend to be both pretty easy and practical, although the medium ones obviously will take a bit more practice.

How similar is the battle system to mainline SMT games?

I really want it but at $350 I'm having a hard time justifying it. And the yellow ink splotch on the dock is kinda ugly, I think it would look cleaner if it was pure white + the graffiti. Still might end up caving though, I'm gonna be playing a bunch of Splatoon 3 and I'm sure the colors will pop on that thing

I still really like it. The animals have distinct personalities without necessarily devolving into caricatures like in the more recent games. It also just has a comfy vibe but that's probably nostalgia.

I even had my own demon. A licker-esque creature that fortunately scampered out of the room towards the start instead of hanging around tormenting me. I tried to move and to scream but my body just wouldnt respond. The whole thing only lasted a a few minutes, and by the end I had a hazy realization that this must be sleep paralysis which probably helped. Still a rather terrifying experience though.

I think I'm going to do it.

Eh, I love the games and have played hundreds of hours but have never really kept up with the lore in much depth. Gatekeeping in general is lame but people can enjoy things for different aspects, whether that be lore, gameplay, or both

I tried it. I didnt really have enough of a grasp on the mechanics to fully understand what was going on, its definitely going to take some matches to really get familiar with the combat system. Im not really enjoying it yet but I want to try to give it a fair shot before I drop it

No problem. I worded it really poorly but by higher level I meant the actual number rather than difficulty, so N4 should theoretically fill out faster than N1, and N5 the fastest. Tbh I haven't even played Umineko yet, but that is about how I'd rank Higurashi (which is why I guessed it in the first place). Just for fun, what's your Higurashi ranking?

Why are you looking to take the N1/JLPT in general? I'm in a similar spot, but between N4/N3. I'll either sign up for the N3 or wait until next year. I want to move there, but to do that I need to get a job at a software company. I could practice and get to a business level, but I feel it would be more realistic to start at an English speaking company there while I continue studying. I think having some Japanese proficiency would look better on my resume, but don't think it's worth it for me to take the N4.

Honestly I'm just curious as to whether or not I could pass it, there are no real stakes riding on it for me. I never felt the need or urge to take any of the previous levels, but this time around I just kinda felt like, "why not?". I'm also pursuing a career in software and might be down to move to Japan at some point, so it'll be nice to have if/when I get to that point, but certainly not within the next year.

Like @NinjaWarrior455 said, I've heard most Japanese-speaking companies seem to only really be interested in N1 or N2 qualifications, so I doubt an N3 would be of much use there. If you're starting at an English speaking company though, I really don't know if they'd care about having any level of the JLPT, but having one certainly couldn't hurt. Either way, I don't think the earlier levels are entirely pointless. You'll get a feel for the formatting of the test and everything, which could help prepare you a bit for the higher-level tests. In your case I'd definitely take some level of JLPT this year, even if just for that reason alone.
