step one is to either include boys in the "empowerment" narrative or to eliminate it entirely. anti-male narrative should not be a sanctioned part of any political orthodoxy

step two is to stop excluding men from teaching careers

i think we're better off with a paradigm that says "let people do what they're interested in". unfortunately for a lot of boys that amounts to playing video games all day.

are men really being excluded from teaching careers? i don't think that's quite true.

dream scenario: start my own publishing company that sells french philosophy books (i have a philosophy degree right now)

good scenario: i work as a translator of philosophy books for someone else

okay scenario: i work as a generic translator (i can't imagine this job will be around for that long)

i can get the degree in 2-3 years and it wouldn't cost too much money.

it seems like this is just to fill four 'equalities officer' positions, which are specifically designed for minorities.

so you're literally complaining that a representative specifically designated for a minority position can't be white. i bet you're equally infuriated by minority only scholarships and the like.

imagine the audacity of denying someone something based on their gender and skin color

do you get mad that white people can't drop n-bombs but black people can?

I don't know about the UK, but they actually can in the US. You don't have to like it, but there's nothing stopping anybody from saying the n-word. What you can't do in the US though is discriminate against people's skin color and sex in order to hire them, which I guess you can do in the UK.

i'm sure if you were white/are white you would be willing to drop an nbomb in front of a group of black people. but i didn't expect you to answer that question with any measure of sincerity.

pic related seems to be about a conference. and as much as you may hate it, conferences can be organized any way the organizers want them to. and yes, that includes excluding white people.

Idk man it's definitely not a good image for a political party to straight up refuse attendance (not potential candidacy) to a certain group of people. Like, barring them from even watching. This ain't BLM, it's a political party.

it's not a good idea but i don't think it's gendered or racial discrimination. keep in mind white men are technically not even banned from the conference.

I answered your question. White people can say the n-word.

post a youtube video of yourself saying it, i need confirmation

EDIT: IF you're white

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what "can" means

White people in the US are capable of saying the n-word without any legal repercussion, and anyone who reacts violently to me saying it will be arrested for assault. Therefore, I can indeed say the n-word.

I'm talking about the Ontario Human Rights Code

"Refusing to refer to a trans person by their chosen name and a personal pronoun that matches their gender identity, or purposely misgendering, will likely be discrimination when it takes place in a social area covered by the Code, including employment, housing and services like education. The law is otherwise unsettled as to whether someone can insist on any one gender-neutral pronoun in particular."

that still isn't compelled speech. it's just ensuring that there are consequences to discrimination against a protected class of people

like i said before, the only situation where it might be compelled speech (depending on how you view the expanded list of neutral pronouns), is undecided. don't mistake me for saying that trans people shouldn't be addressed by their proper pronouns. they don't even mention non-binary or gender nonconforming so it's not something that you can be entirely sure of.

unless court cases related to discrimination against transgender peop are handled drastically differently from cases related to discrimination against other protected groups (they won't be), OR other court cases related to said discrimination fall into the realm of compelled speech (they don't), there's no legitimate reason to believe that this will be the case. Jordan Peterson's points were nothing but fear-mongering

i'm talking about non-binary people that aren't trans and decide to use an unusual pronoun and i don't understand why you're purposely ignoring that fact but because we occupy the same ideological ground i'm just going to let it go
