Ironic how with disney wars the force is now being given a gender.

Going from left to right: the first two look like they give good head and take it in the backdoor.

Kathleen Kennedy is assuming that girls didn't care about Star Wars because they couldn't identify with the main male hero, they could only identify with Princess Leia. However she still thinks boys can identify with female characters like Rey or Jyn Erso or admiral Holdo etc... This narrow minded vision explains why Luke has been mishandled in Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, because girls could not relate to him, he was therefore completely useless to Disney.

With a person in power like Kathleen Kennedy pushing all the SJW bullshit and modern feminist agenda shit in disney wars I would not be surprised if they did so.

SW is now a way to push this womans agenda which is modern feminism.

The idea is that the agenda is to heavily push Star Wars towards women, not to have it made by women.

Yes let's cherrypick irrelevant statistics

What's with feminists and refusing to acknowledge obvious political/ideological plugs? They act like it loses all legitimacy the moment you mention it and like to pretend that never in the history of media have ideologies seeped into creative works (at least not their own, and especially not in things they like). Nope it's all totally normal and you're just a bigot for calling a spade a spade. They do that shit on purpose. They intentionally bait people. It's a core part of their personality and they do it in everyday life.

I honestly don't know how someone can't see that Kathleen Kennedy is pushing more diversity into Star Wars, especially when it comes to women.

Like, maybe calling it a feminist agenda is a bit much, but there's clearly a focus being put on trying to get more women on board with Star Wars.

And there isn't really anything wrong with it, it's just the execution has been sloppy and transparent.

Ah, you're sweet. In that case, then Kennedy is trying to sell Star Wars, her product to a market that doesn't buy as much.

That's called being a businessperson, not having a feminist agenda.

Pretty bad business move to alienate your target demographic to go after an uncertain demographic.

Glad to see that you do agree with me that they are pushing towards women, though.

I can agree with this statement. Until this push actually gives us an inferior product, then they can do whatever they want with genders and skin color.

Although I'd really like to see more nonhumans in important roles.

To be fair, the demographic in question is young boys.

The only place Star Wars is actually suffering is in toy sales (maybe merchandise as a whole, but I'd assume it's more just toys from all the gloom and doom I've seen nerds cry about), I'm pretty sure.

The films still make a nice profit. Hell, I'm pretty sure I read that TLJ was like only the 3rd in terms of drop off when inflation was taken into effect.

Disney could screw Star Wars with mismanagement, but they're hardly at the danger zone yet. I don't think people realize that TFA and Rogue Ones are more outliers than norms since they had a lot of casual hype behind them due to being the return of star wars, and the first "side story".

People don't realize that there's more to a character than just how much volume their chest has.
As a guy, I couldn't relate to Rey at all because her character was just so absurd it ruined my suspension of disbelief for the movie. Actually same thing with Finn. edit: I'm talking about TFA

I thought TFA was so boring and the characters so boring and the dialogue so forced it turned me off to the idea of paying to watch TLJ.

That's fine if that's your opinion, but the question is: did your dislike of the film have anything to do with the characters' gender or skin color?

I mean, no, right? You said as much. So why does this subject keep coming up if it has nothing to do with the perceived lack of quality?

Are you accusing the writers and directors of spending valuable creativity points on "diversity" and fewer on "quality"? I mean, I'm not in the film industry, but I don't think that's how it works.

I picture a ludicrous scenario with Rian Johnson sitting in the director's chair like "Phew! Glad we got a woman as a lead! Now I can sit and relax and not work nearly as hard as I would if the lead were a man!"

I feel like they just didn't spend any points on diversity or creativity. And realistically I don't know if they had an agenda or not but the way the characters are written, I'm more inclined to believe they wanted to be more inclusive than not and just didn't know how to pull it off.

I don't think anyone is mad that Rey is the lead character and female. I think they're mad that she is a pretty boring character by way of not having to overcome any challenges so far really and it leads people to assume that this must be because of some feminist agenda, which would link the quality of the movies and the women lead character together.
