Also hilarious is that there is ZERO representation of the 6th generation outside of Halo (unless you count Half-Life 2), yet multiple reps of the era from before we invented more than 10 colors, which is absolutely nutty.

This is an extremely short list so you obviously can't pick everyone's personal favorite, but you really telling me you can't squeeze in a single PS2 game, a system that has arguably the strongest library in gaming? Lol

You could very well spin the argument into saying that the reason people aren't participating in the workforce is because of obscenely low wages for a lot of positions that don't require a college degree, and obscenely high costs of education if you do decide to pursue a bachelors.

Got a hold of the game this morning, insanely excited to play it when I get home!

I own a couple of the Senran Kazuya games, but that's about it as far as pure fanservice goes

It's pretty chilling and better than what the vast majority of my options were at the time I got it but

A) it doesn't pay very well
B) has fuck all to do with what I studied for
C) saps a lot of enthusiasm for the YouTube channel i was working on, which i feel bad about because i was building some momentum

All the complaints of a paper-thin plot sound great to me, playing Nocturne with its 'paper-thin' plot was extremely refreshing after so many JRPGs with endless walls of dialogue. SMT is more about the vibes, man.

I am very very confused as to why they downplayed the traitor subplot to the point of pretty much cutting it.

That's the entire intrigue of the first third of the book and no one even mentions the idea that there might be a traitor.

Planning on watching it tomorrow, as a gigafan of the books I'm really wary of the film based on the trailers. So many shots of explosions and battles, but the book very rarely focuses on such things. The biggest battles universally take place off-page and are tersely described by one of the characters before moving on with the plot.

Have 0 hard numbers but just a cursory look at the system boards, biggest game boards etc tells me that engagement is way lower than it was just a few years ago. Even ERA isn't as active as it was.

I'd take Resident Evil VIII or even Tales of Arise over Deathloop, the discourse around that game has been a lot less kind then its Metascore would suggest.

Regardless this year probably generates the weakest GotY field since 2012, real interim year for the industry.

Basically if you buy a PS5/XSX digital-only, you're killing your ability to buy things on the second-hand market and are relying on publishers to not just decide to permanently take things off the store.

It's not about what you already own, it's about what you're able to buy in the future.

As someone who dickrode Witcher a lot last year, I suspect it's been damaged a lot since the contest. CDPR received so much goodwill back than, and people weren't questioning the game's quality.

Cyberpunk REALLY hurt the company's image, and I think a lot of the people memeing Witcher 3 were the first to turn on it. Cyberpunk prompted a LOT of 'Was Witcher 3 even that good' discussions, and the game's stock has taken a tumble among casuals who were only memeing it because of 'wholesome CDPR'

Re-run Witcher vs Skyrim today and I would hardly be surprised if Skyrim wins now.

Kazuya was Giga-Based and one of the stars of one of the biggest fighting game franchises

Steve is the MC of the biggest game of all time lol, pretty sure Minecraft has sold more than the entirety of the Zelda series threefold

Min-min is the only really weak choice in FP2

Have had one for a few months, and honestly it's had a MUCH better first year than the PS4. The exclusives are better, the multiplats are better, and enhanced backwards compatibility makes games that didn't run super well on the base PS4 like Sekiro a LOT more fun to replay.

Fata Morgana being the top rated Switch game is based as fuck, if you're only going to play one VN in your life make it that one

As far as zoomers are concerned, San Andreas has become one of the premiere meme games and you can find clips from it basically everywhere on the Internet. Fortnite is the big thing of the moment so it'll draw considerable backlash. Mario 3 being above an older Nintendo title, an anime game, and Hades isn't what I'd call wrecking shit either.

P5 has pretty considerable clout in a lot of circles; going 70-30 with it considering the results in other matches ain't nothing to sneeze at, even if Mario 3 would be favored to win

Just looking at it, I have some gut reactions:

1) seeding is absolute fucking trash. How are ALL of your 1 seeds and most of the 2s gonna crash and burn by R2? Feels like IGN has 0 grasp of what their readers are actually interested in; Journey as a 2 seed makes me wonder if this was run through RNG.

2) there's like 0 rhyme or reason to the winners so far.

Zoomers have kinda been running circles around 'boomers' (Burnout 3 > Chrono Trigger, Apex > Super Metroid... yikes) but then you see stuff like San Andreas > RDR, WoW > Fortnite, or Mario 3 wrecking shit in general, and it makes me scratch my head.

Definitely different from GFaqs in that Nintendo is really poorly, with Mario 3 and BotW being the only quarterfinalists (and against each other at that); JRPGs got btfo with P5, FFVII, and CT getting wrecked in R1 and Pokemon losing in R2.

Then there's just random shit like RotTR beating Half Life 2 or Skyrim vs ACIV being a 58-42 match that doesn't make much sense from any lense.

If I'd tried to make a bracket for this tournament I'd have been slaughtered lol. There isn't a cohesive culture over there like there is on GFaqs, probably because these are run on like 4 sites

I see. I'm a diehard stan of the original season but that only cost like $30 and was 15 hours long. While I want to support the series and midrange development in general, $60 kind of feels like Square trying to see what they can get away with and I'm not down with that.

Between that and the technical issues, this is probably a Black Friday pickup for me.

So should I be spending $60 on this or not mates
