Eternals will feature a superhero who is a gay family man. That would have been completely unheard of 10 years ago. Things are definitely changing

But is it going to be relevant to the story at large or is it just brownie points for diversity by having a (meaningless) descriptor? Because if it's the latter then I'd rather just not know. If a character never has a romance arc/story line or never shows romantic interest in anyone why even bother bringing up their sexuality?

If you're going to have diverse characters have it be relevant to the story.

The only thing I can see that he mightve done wrong is he got out the vehicle without being told? Maybe he was, but the video didn't seem to show it. Even then that doesn't magically excuse the police's abuse of force.

While political colorblindness is even worse, interpersonal colorblindness isn't great either. The key should be to treat people appropriately and well, not to ignore characteristics that do unfortunately matter. Even on an interpersonal level, race is one of the most salient factors in our society and ignoring that is going to get you into trouble. It's harder to figure out when you should take it into account and when it's not as relevant, but that's what's necessary.

However if you acknowledge that someone is black, some people will call you racist for "caring that I'm/they're black"

Generally yeah. Honestly it feels like -er only ever gets dropped anymore when someone is being intentionally racist/offensive.

Since it's such a divisive and patently offensive word, I wouldn't necessarily mind seeing it slowly removed from the common social vernacular.

I can see the justification for charging the lady, however I wouldn't be surprised if the charges are dropped or reduced.

However if the wife gets charged, i think the mother should be charged for intimidation, threats and assault.

Also, don't think the husband deserved to lose his job. He was the most calm of anyone and just tried to reasonably get his wife out of the situation. Though I can understand the pressure on the institution to address it, even before the facts were all laid on the table. He should be brought back on, once the situation is forgotten about

Also how do you go about providing this zone or space? I'm sure there are majority black neighborhoods that could serve as a starting point, but America is either majority white or mixed. So you'd have to either start in a neighborhood that might not have a lot of economic upward movement or you get stuck somewhere in the middle of Montana with little to no natural resources and you'd be back at square one, except even without homes or anything.

So you want to effectively segregate because even if it was legal, you'd have bad faith actors that restrict non-blacks or harass them for "being in our space"
