Do you guys think any of these Star Wars movies in the next few years are going to flop? It seems like even people who really love Star Wars are like "enough already", but I doubt they'll actually do anything about it. All the Marvel movies seem to do well and that's like four a year, not one

It depends on what you mean by flop. They're always going to make tons and tons of money. And there will be a loud group who hates every Star wars movie

Oh come on, that's not even that tall. Maybe if she was like 6'2". The tallest girl I ever dated was I think 5'11" and that wasn't awkwardly tall. I get that a lot of girls prefer that their SO is taller than they are, but still.

I think it's worth mentioning that FFX was their first game with voice acting and animated cutscenes with dialogue. I think they tried to make a cloud type character like they always did but it didn't translate well from ps1 style cutscenes, at least at the start of the game

This is going to sound like a hot take, but I think the Twins purposefully offered Darvish sightly less than what they knew other teams offered him, so they can continue to be cheap (like the owners always have been), while at the same time pretending that theyre trying to build a competitive team.

They try to make it so the team looks like they might be good every few years just to sell tickets and aren't actually interested in winning

I thought it was cool. They set up some cool stuff the week before, like a Zipline over the Mississippi and a ton of events leading up to it. It was also kinda neat seeing the city talked about on national media, which never happens. I live about a mile from the stadium so I was able to check some of it out without having to deal with traffic which would have been a nightmare.

That being said, I like football and didn't have to deal with the traffic or the airport or parking, so for some people I'm sure it was a huge pain in the ass. Especially locals who were inconvenienced by it who don't give a shit about sports

Belichick had two different stints as the head coach of the New York Jets without ever coaching a game.

In February 1997, Belichick, who had been an assistant coach under Bill Parcells with the New York Giants and New England Patriots, was named the Jets interim head coach while the Jets and Patriots continued to negotiate compensation to release Parcells from his contract with the Patriots and allow Parcells to coach the Jets.[27] Six days later, the Patriots and Jets reached an agreement that allowed Parcells to coach the Jets, and Belichick became the team's assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.[28]

When Parcells stepped down as head coach in 1999, he had already arranged with team management to have Belichick succeed him. When Belichick was introduced as head coach to the mediathe day after his hiring was publicizedhe turned it into a surprise-resignation announcement. Before taking the podium, he scrawled a resignation note on a sheet of loose leaf paper that read, in its entirety, "I resign as HC of the NYJ." Soon after this bizarre turn of events, he was introduced as the Patriots' 12th full-time head coach, succeeding the recently fired Pete Carroll. (The Patriots had tried to hire him away from Parcells/the Jets in the past.) Parcells and the Jets claimed that Belichick was still under contract to the Jets, and demanded compensation from the Patriots. NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue agreed, and the Patriots gave the Jets a first-round draft pick in 2000 in exchange for the right to hire Belichick.[30]

Yeah there's been plenty walking around. Haven't seen many in restaurants/bars tho (mostly pats fans from what I've seen). A friend who works in the service industry said that all the Pats fans he's encountered have been really cool.

On Friday I went to lunch and walked by this bar which had a line half a block long. Apparently Barstool sports was having an event there and it seemed like the biggest douche fest you can imagine

I was at my regular watering hole last night and there were a bunch of Pats fans. They seemed like okay enough fellows, but being a passive aggressive Midwesterner I judged them from my bar stool. This is a place with a very good craft beer selection, but they only ordered Bud/Miller Light (from cans!!!). They also set their drinks on the bar shuffle board table (which is a big no-no) and spilled on it right before leaving. They had ridiculous accents too. I didn't really know that they could be so exaggerated outside of movies

It's been interesting as I haven't really seen any real Pats fans (other than bandwagoners). If I was a Bills fan or something I would probably hate them as much as the Cheeseheads (no offense SkynyrdRocker)

so if/when this seattle team is created, I'm assuming they'll move a team from pacific to central? (central has 7 teams while all other divisions have 8). hopefully it's Arizona..

Yeah Cleveland is more "on paper" than any other team. You cannot disregard that they went 0-16 and 1-15 the year before. Inexcusable.
But on paper, they have Josh Gordon, a good O line, a decent defense. Add Cousins to that, and "on paper ;)" we may have a not 0-16 team on our hands

He's definitely worth the money. You need a QB if you want to win. There have of course been exceptions, but QB is (probably?) the most important position in all of sports (honestly I'm not trying to be a dick by saying that, as a football fan. Correct me if I'm wrong).

I'll be excited to watch whatever team signs him. Cleveland could have a really interesting team, as well as Denver with Cousins.

This FA market for QBs is more interesting than usual. But yeah Kirk is def the best FA QB since Peyton. I say this as a Vikings fan who have been starved of a franchise QB since Culpepper (who was a franchise QB until he got hurt) and then before that...Tarkenton in the 70s.

Here are Kirk's stats in his 3 seasons as a starter. Really really good. And this is with a mediocre at best Washington team.

I will try to make this my last football take for a while, but the Vikings NEED to throw all the money in the world at Cousins. They have enough cap space, and Cousins by far the best option for QB next year and for at least the next few season in this armchair GM's opinion.
Some dumb idiot Vikings fans think that if they sign cousins, we won't be able to re-sign Barr, Kendricks, Diggs, and Hunter. Don't get me wrong I love all those players, but there's enough money to extended 3/4 of them AND Cousins.... And what's more important...a good linebacker, or a (arguably) top 10 QB?

I was there from 7am - about 2pm on Saturday and they played Livin on a Prayer/Cherry Pie/ Stroke Me / Here I Go Again On My Own type songs literally the whole time I was there
our first game was originally scheduled for 8am, and the next at 10:15 am. I figured I'd be gone by noon. But the ice was shitty so they delayed it by 2 hours and it was still shitty.
Reese's puffs was a big sponsor so I got like 10 2 oz fun size boxes of that, at least
