They both have technically better voices, sure. But I prefer Selena's actual voice better, her timbre. And I prefer her music, which is the most important part.

The review embargo has nothing to do with it. They talk about it as if it's some novel thing that they decided to stave off reviews until the release. This is done with almost every single shitty movie.

The reason it's doing well is:
1. It's a kids movie, and kids will watch whatever
2. People watching it ironically

I have some friends who have tried it once with that sort of mentality. I'm open to the idea of weed (of course), hallucinogenics, ecstacy, and a good amount of other drugs. But I would never do cocaine.

The friends I know, even though they didn't end up addicted or anything, all ended up doing dozens of hits in one night. It's that short turnaround addictiveness combined with it being awful for your heart that I wouldn't touch it.

It's almost as if every adaptation ever attached to Stephan King's name has new utter horse shit.... outside of "Shawshank" and "The Shining" (I liked both book and movie, but I can see why people were erked about the latter) of course.

I was hoping this would be good. I'm gonna go in with an open mind and treat it as a "sequel," but this doesn't give me hope.
