Very, it's a comfy game and the levels have very generous win conditions and some you outright can't lose at all. It can get tricky if you want to complete each level fully and get the best reactions from the king but that has no bearing on game completion.

Foundations also give your buildings a grid to snap to which can make symmetrical building easier

Absolutely, probably overall the most useful item in the game imo. Especially when you need to quickly gather resources where there's a lot of aggressive fauna
