I would assume "screen doesn't come on" means no BIOS.Depending on the mobo you can still flash a new BIOS even without it posting. I haven't had any issues with gaming as of recent. When you install Proton-GE, everything on Steam just works. There's also Heroic which serves as a GOG/Epic Games launcher. I've noticed emulators run better, too.
