I guess it's still really fresh for me because I was JUST at a 1st birthday party (my wife's cousin's kid) and the hosts did NOTHING to cater to any of the guest that didn't have young kids with them.

That seems like more fault of the host rather than the party itself Ive gone to plenty of first birthdays where the host has stuff for everyone. And pays attention to the guest and stuff

Why go if you feel the time will be wasted? Idk about others, but I just like spending time with certain friends and family So, if anything, its just a good time to catch up with everyone And have fun at a little get together

I'd want to use that money to travel, and it would cost to much to get someone to care for that many dogs while I'm out of town.

I feel you need to "know your audience" when it comes to who you invite to a party, based on what the party is going to be.

If you're going to have a party that caters to a dozen 5-8 year olds, just invite the kids and their parents. Maybe the grandparents. But please don't invite me and my 14 and 17 year old kids. I sound like a curmudgeon, but he last thing I want to do with 4 hours in the middle of a Saturday is watch a dozen kids that aren't mine do fingerpaint and dance to "Baby Shark" while both of my kids look at me with that "I wish I was anywhere by here" look.

Idk I never really had an issues growing up combining both parties. My family was a decent size with people of all ages. So, even when I was younger and had friends over, older family members came and talked to other family members. And just enjoyed everyone spending time together. Ive also gone to the younger ones parties when I was older, and talked to people I havent seen in a while, and just enjoyed spending time with family Ive never seen it as a big deal. Plus, when I was younger and having parties, my cousins and friends could all stay over and spend the night. So, Idk

I also think it's dumb to have huge family parties for your kid once they're older than 6. That's when they start school and it should transition to a kiddie party.

You could always do both. Or combine them

I hope the takeaway is not "make a giant boss fight with bowser every 10 minutes" because I can see that wearing thin pretty fast.

Found out that those metal crates that can't be broken will break if they're hit by one of those giant fireballs bowser spews out and they're hiding another cat shine. So everytime the screen goes dark I have to remember where those damn things are to have bowser break them and get the cat shine

I remember I found that out early. So, when I saw the shell starting to do its thing, I started running for them

It's also the reverse of what the original parties were. The gender reveal was as much of a surprise to the parents as to the guests. A friend of the expecting couple would be the only one who had read the results, and they were responsible for purchasing the reveal cake.

It some how changed to the parents already knowing the sex of the child when they threw the party, which pretty much defeats the purpose and just comes off as narcissistic.

Thats certain parents. You can have the doctor give you an envelope, and give the envelope to the baker. Some people also have a friend in charge of it Som if you want to do things like party poppers or balloons

Chose talking to animals. I could finally tell the cat to stay off my desk. Since I could understand her, Id know what that meow really meant. She could also tell me if she likes the food.

On the down side, as some have mentioned..youd have to hear what cows are saying on their way to becoming beef patties and every bug/bird/squirrel/deer conversation all night.

A string doesn't mean something is common. It means similar incidents happening close together.

That could mean a string of robberies by the same thief.

It could mean a string of pranks or challenges. ( See ice bucket challenge or creepy clown sighting.)

It could mean that there's a serial killer.

It could mean a pack of idiots saw someone using colored smoke bombs and explosives for their gender reveal, thought it was a great idea and decided to do the same, safety be damned.

I didnt say it meant it was common. Just said it makes it sound more common. At least when Ive heard it used. When someone says string of robberies, its usually because quite a few robberies happen in that area Otherwise, they would probably say a few or couple robberies, as an example

It's not that people are irritated with gender reveal parties, because most people who don't want to be surprised will incorporate themes into their baby showers.

People are irritated with the string of idiots who caused fires, injuries, property/nature damage, and one death by using explosives to announce it. Bad apples spoiling the bunch and all that.

Like someone else said, thats a very small percentage of people Most do thinks like cakes or cupcakes. Maybe balloons of party poppers. Most people arent starting major forest fires or lighting off fireworks

Depends on the person. Some people have them for gifts (like specific gifts based on gender), but some dont. Some just like to have friends and family over. Some also do it for people who couldnt make the shower. Like if the shower was on a busy weekend

Wouldn't it be nice if everybody could just boycott beer at the same time and put that whole industry out of business? Especially since beer has done more to hurt America (and the world) than the various social issues people have protested in relation to that beer.

I would guess its because critics and viewers look at movies through different lenses Which makes sense and doesnt at the same time. It makes sense since they are reviewing it instead of just watching for entertainment. But it doesnt make sense since people at just watching it to have fun That said, its also hard since people in general are different Some critics just dont like a movie because of the genre Personally, I wouldnt want to be a critics And tbh, I dont usually listen to critics about video games or movies

I just avoid politics in most cases when talking with friends because other subjects are better

I usually have a roommate And that works for me I dont think Id enjoy living by myself

I don't think anyone's expecting proof of that at this point. He's pretty unambiguously demonstrated that he only believed that because he misunderstood the marketing strategy.

Oh. I already knew there wasnt any actual proof I was just telling him thats the proof we wanted if he wanted that claim to stand But since that was never a stance the company took, there obviously wouldnt be proof. Haha.

Thats not proof. From what Ive seen, no one is boycotting the alcohol because they think its selling to kids. They seem to be boycotting them using a certain person on a set of beer cans (that only they got), and the company putting LGBTQ+ positivity of whatever
