smash brawl was the only time i remember really liking a game board. brawl board had good vibes and good times.

i remember being more hyped for that game than anything in the world
and i enjoyed it when it came out. even got suckered and bought a wii just to play it sooner like a dumb-ass.

it's a good game. but mediocre when stacked against the hype i had for it. i did it to myself.
definitely not one of my favorite zelda titles, either way.

because it's ridiculous. she frequently tiers higher than her power suit incarnation. her moveset was improvised without a single drop of creativity - her moveset could easily be slapped on, say, Jody Summers or Krystal from Star Fox and it would make just as much sense, it hardly feels metroid themed at all. so at that point people usually say "well they didn't have a lot to go off of..." well, sounds like they didn't have a reason to make her a character then, other than T&A. and if anyone says she's not sexualized they're being ridiculous. they gave her a whip and rocket high heels, a generic 'sexy dommy mommy' voice saying mildly suggestive things, until ultimate she had a barbie body which was at its worst in 4 (moar like zero muscle samus), and she even has a taunt where she spins around like a dancer with her whip coiled around her.

it just sucks. at least ultimate tried to improve it, but it doesn't even feel like a representation of samus. this is all just opinions, of course, but yeah. that's how i feel about it.

i mean, i have a butt, and that doesn't stop me from caring about girl butt

I'll give you the heels. Otherwise wearing a form fitting suit makes sense when wearing power armor like her. Less chance of getting caught up in moving parts the suit not sealing right cause a piece of fabric etc.

sorry, i wasn't clear. i don't have a problem with the zero suit itself. it makes sense to wear something like that under her power suit.

my problem is with zero suit samus the character in smash bros.

as a longtime zelda fan... as someone who plays every single game when it comes out
i do not care about timeline bullshit at all. if the story is only vague and loosely connected, that's fine
each game is and should be its own self-contained adventure, or a direct sequel of one
making references to other legends is fine, like how wind waker clearly references ocarina
some things should remain consistent, that's part of the charm of the series
the green tunic, the master sword, the triforce trio... all great. dig it. doesn't need to go deeper.

off-screen. she actually does do a lot of normal mercenary work between games.
and actually, she was paid for the mission in dread. just not very much for that level of work, according to ADAM, which tells me she usually makes pretty decent paper.

this is something the average metroid player doesn't understand... but the true metroid enjoyer knows it well.
samus does this on purpose. she deliberately throws herself into impossible situations, loses her powerups, and then begins the climb all over again. she decimates enemies as she slowly regains power. she does it because otherwise it'd just be too easy, and samus herself still doesn't know her limits. so she keeps testing herself... trying her limits... pushing forward. if there is a ceiling, she hasn't touched it yet.
samus goes to a hostile planet, and the danger becomes a matter of opinion. to an onlooker, samus is in danger. to samus... everyone else is.

I hated that

i hated that it worked and just no-sale'd miggy's athsma, but i loved that johnny did it because that is exactly something johnny would do.

imagine, though, if miguel was actually misdiagnosed and he'd told his mom and nan about it, and they used it as the basis for a malpractice suit and that single move ended up lifting them straight out of poverty in the final season because miguel did not, in fact, have athsma

that would elevate shit so much

also there really isn't that much actual fighting in the show especially in the first few seasons
sometimes they go entire episodes without a single fight, just focusing on character building and dynamics
