But there was nothing about the challenge that required 9 people to complete it. In other challenges where people got injured they were able to theoretically complete the challenge. If 9 people were needed to complete the challenge, the women's tribe was unable to complete the challenge, even theoretically, so they should have rescheduled the challenge in case Courtney came back. In reality, she didn't, so it didn't matter, but if Courtney had returned then the women would have had to go to Tribal Council for a challenge they were unable to compete in.
Edit: The show was the one that said Courtney couldn't cross the balance beam. It's not like she tried and failed.

It seemed kind of unfair that they couldn't just have one of the guys sit out the rest of the challenge. If Kourtney had injured herself before the challenge that's probably what would have happened. It ended up not mattering in the end, but it still seemed like a pretty bad call, and that's probably why the girls acted ***ed at the guys.
I'm not one who always supports fierce people (Alicia is a ****ing *****), but I was definitely on Team Girls this episode. The guys were the ones that started the rift by stealing their stuff, and then refusing to make any deals with them. None of the girls seemed resistant to that idea except for Alicia really, but it seemed pretty uniform on the guy side. And then Matt had the nerve to say the girls should give them the chicken as an apology. For what? If they gave them the chicken what would they have to apologize for?

The Republican Party is a coalition of groups that have believe in the same policies, but have different world views. The Democratic Party on the other hand is a coalition of people with a similar world view, but who believe in different policies.
Not sure what that tells me, except that is explains Republicans' cycle of boom and bust in terms of popularity. When all their wings rally around the same policy they can do very well, but when the sides are distrustful enough of each other that they can completely collapse as well. Democrats tend to bicker amongst each other more consistently, but rarely fall out on the level of the current Republican primary.
Paradoxically, this leads to Republican primaries being more policy driven, as even the slightest difference in policy can break the fabric of their coalition. Democrats are more accepting of policy differences however, as they know they they all are meant to result in the same end game.

as much as I think all religion is a joke, I do have to say that I dunno why people act like morons are so out there. they aren't any more ridiculous than anyone else, their religion is just much newer and does not have quite the establishment or history of the rest.
Mormonism seems more "cultish" than other religions if such a term can be used. Like during Prop 8. the Mormon Church would call up some of their members and say things like "It appears to us as if you are able to donate this much money to defeat gay marriage. Why haven't you?" I mean, I don't think other religions do things that creepy. And while they don't shut out people that leave the church completely like in an actual cult like Scientology, the way people who have left the church are treated by their families can sometimes veer on isolation like in an actual cult. I don't think that's an actual Church precept or anything, but it's similar in a way, as is my understanding.
Part of the reason is also due to the fact that most people generally don't think that others take The Bible/Talmud/Koran literally. People, regardless of whether this perception is right or wrong, believe that Mormons do take The Book of Mormon literally

It's not really fair to lump people like Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga in with stuff like Jersey Shore, or Nicki Minaj. I wouldn't say that any of those three try to intentionally act trashy the way that someone like, say, Ke$ha does.
I agree with the general sentiment though about trash being celebrated because it's "fierce" or lulzy or whatever.

I know about it a hell of a lot better than you do, apparently.
Let me guess. You never actually bothered looking up anything about the Iowa caucuses.
1960 had several close races which could have been the result of fraud. This does nothing to explain your allegations of fraud in any of the primaries/caucuses besides Iowa, none of which were close to victory for Paul. I did not look up anything for Iowa as I did not dispute anything you said about Iowa.

Are *you* familiar with how election fraud works? For Paul to have won any state besides Iowa the made up votes would have to be at a level that would be pretty obvious. What is there to indicate there is a concerted effort to stuff votes against Paul? His election numbers if anything usually outperform his polling numbers, and even if his support was being underestimated in polls, there's no way it would be underestimated to the extent that he would actually win.

That is not the issue. You originally said that the 14th Amendment does not apply because the dog is not a citizen. But SephG said nothing about protecting the dog's rights, just the human citizen's right to equal protection under the 14th Amendment. There is no question that the Amendment does apply to him. We cannot discriminate against him based on his desire to wed dogs (under SephG's liberal extension of the amendment, remember).
But the marriage in question by definition involves two entities: a man and a dog. Nothing is being done to the man by himself.

As expected, however, Romney dominated Denver and Douglas counties, and has now pulled into the lead. Jefferson County and the western end of Arapahoe County should cement his lead once they come in.
FiveThirtyEight is saying that the incoming precincts are slightly bad for Romney, especially Colorado Springs which early reports have him losing dramatically.

If the court wants to make the argument that the 14th amendment means states can't abridge the rights to "liberty" (ie doing whatever the f*** you want in a contractual setting), then I see no reason why I can't claim to have some PoMosexual love for my desk and then I marry my desk.
You are aware that a contract involves two parties giving consent, correct? Pretty sure you can't marry a coma victim.

Stumped it on Necrodeus from Kirby Mass Attack, although he's in the archive. Wish it would tell you the Details for losses. Is there a way to view them?
Got Alice from The Magicians in 30 and Belleza from SoA in 20 though.
Edit: Got Lloyd Braun in 30 asking irrelevant questions for a while.
Double Edit: Asking "Does your character have human skin?" is never not creepy.

Atheism is a religion by definition because it's faith-based. You believe that God definitely doesn't exist, when there is no hard evidence for that. That is faith.
The hard evidence that God does not exist is that there is not evidence that God does exist.

There's a difference between student content and school content. The student is not a somewhat governmental institution so if the student created something religious as some sort of student created product like a talent show or something that's okay.
The difference is that regardless of who created it, the school clearly considers this banner or whatever their own content/message. It's clearly representing the school and not the student.

New blog post. Kind of short, but I started writing it a couple weeks ago then got away from things, so I was mostly concerned with just finishing things up.
Schools need to stop hiring their bloated administration staffs, and have the presidents take pay cuts. I thought the goal of being a university president was to help students learn, not become a millionaire.

Someone on another forum pointed out that we have three silent performances nominated this year (The two from The Artist and Max von Sydow). Kind of cool. Probably the first time multiple silent performances have been nominated since the first ceremony.

Jonah Hill has been nominated for all the precursor awards. I've even heard speculation that he could win. He's probably the second or third biggest lock in the category behind Plummer and Branagh.
I admit I have a lot for Dragon Tattoo, but it's been cleaning up at the Guilds. Other than Mara it's gotten those noms at all of the guild awards.

I have never heard of any of these; The Descendants sounds like a winner
How have you never heard of any of these? Do you purposely live in a cultural bubble?
Anyways, Drive and Tinker Tailor are both fantastic. I like Drive better myself, but either would be a great choice. The Descendants is good, but not at the level of the other two. Haven't seen The Ides of March.

Moderates siding with Romney is extremely unlikely. Democrats have won moderates in every single presidential election since 1988. Yes, even card carrying leftie ACLU member Dukakis won Moderates. Any advantage that Republicans have is an ideological one. Democrats have better messaging and their numbers amongst Moderates show that.
Romney has the best chance at being Obama but that says more about the candidates than him. The national zeitgeist (regardless of whether or not conservatives want to admit it) is one railing against the wealthy elites who play with rigged dice and work in a different system. Romney is a perfect example of this kind of person, and it will definitely hurt his messaging in the long term.

People don't care about Megaupload being down because it's a violation of civil rights. They are just upset they can't get stuff people have illegally uploaded anymore. I don't buy this righteous indignation for a second.
