I flew twice, return trip, Calgary (what I expected from an airport) to Vancouver (really beautiful) Never been to Pearson, but see it on TV all the time, I want to dive (intellectually) into the train to and from if I ever get the chance. I have been to quite a few small airfields in Southern Ontario, grew up next to CFB Borden and had yearly airshows. My bargaining unit was the direct result of Liberal deregulation in the 90's, it also eventually resulted in the elimination of union jobs, mine included, under Harper's reign. When it comes to traditional labour unions you have to bargain thrice, once with the boss, then the government, and then with the people who elect the government. I need to move but cannot afford what is being charged in rent, (the cheapest accommodation available is a motel for 3k a month) so I am trying to get my stuff into storage but the abuser physically put himself in front of the truck that was to deliver my storage container and because he threatened death, the company will not deliver a container until he has been removed from the property, which the police won't do because the complaint has not come through the landlord tenant board. My mother prevented him from being run over when he stood in the drivers blindspot, he punched her in the ribs breaking one, but because he was between her and the camera it only caught her saving his life and not the punch. She was charged and dumped in hospital for two weeks until they realized they were liable for their treatment of her and released her with no where to go. Shelters are full, transitional housing is full, halfway houses are full. When she arrives in town last night in hospital scrubs and the Padre couldn't help, she called police and told them she was coming home. The police arrived after her abuser called them and took her away. She was supposed to be released this afternoon but I have not heard from her, she left her phone here. | KodyKeir 09/21/22 5:08:00 PM #20 | Her Doctor was not at the hospital when she was there,(they couldn't release her the day before when he was for *reasons*) the ER did not want to admit her because she had just been discharged from a different hospital, shelters are full, hotels are cost prohibitive. She was in scrubs and wanted to come home and get clothes, I had her meet me at the church up the street, the Padre could offer no direct help, so she called police and told them she was coming home, it scared her abuser to see her walking up the driveway, he called the cops and they came and took her away, denying she called them. (The Landlady and her husband have two adopted sons that are police officers, something they leverage frequently) Working with a local service, they arranged for her to be released and I am uncertain what her housing situation is going to be, she left her phone here when she was taken away last night. Supremely frustrated by all this, had a call on Monday from a service that is supposed to be able to help me but I have no timeline on what is happening next and feel ignored, lied to and strung along by those in positions of power who could do something but choose not to, and those that actively choose to do the wrong thing. The current fear is the domino effect a weakened Russia will have on global hegemony, with China solidifying and expanding their power base despite their own internal turmoil. Former Soviet Bloc states and regions within Russia itself could see this as an opportunity to push their own domestic agendas that could further destabilize the region. The first 24 hours were a little rough but then it was like, wow (Owen Wilson level wow) and everything felt great for like the next month. I alternated arms, had the first one in my left and the second in my right and I could feel and recognise the spread of agents activating; really neat experience unlike anything I have had before. hockey7318 posted... I just had to settle for the Pfizer since the Moderna Bivalent is apparently backordered everywhere. Got the flu shot with it and now my power level has surpassed Kimbo's.
