I know some people who are obsessed with it but I'll never understand the allure of boxing. Watching two guys dance around a ring for 20 minutes isn't very entertaining to me. Then again, half the world is obsessed with soccer and I'd rather watch paint dry. To each his own, I guess.

Do you have a link to a story where he blames liberals? I've read through a few and can't seem to find the word "liberal" or "democrat" in them.

He simply blames recent laws that have increased minimum wage and required 40 hours of paid sick time. There are plenty of small businesses that have had to close shop due to a jump in minimum wage. I don't buy the excuse of minimum wage being a factor but he has a point about people who blindly sign liability waviers. And he's not wrong about the ridiculousness of giving part time high schoolers with no skills/experience 40 hours of sick time.

Should just offer ride-alongs on ambulances. If pushing narcan for the 6th time in a 12-hour shift doesn't stop them from doing drugs, the message is wasted on them anyway. At the very least, they'll learn more about what drugs do than they will from getting talked at by a cop.

Because when politicians get involved, it usually does become the same thing. If I still lived in that shithole called New York, my .22 plinker would be considered an "assault rifle" and therefore, illegal to own. I have no problem with things like background checks and closing those alleged "gun show loopholes" but restricting certain firearms because of bullshit cosmetics like NY did or because it just so happens to be the weapon of choice for school shooters is ridiculous.

Start with some parental accountability (I heard the Sante Fe shooter's father left his firearms unsecured), armed resource officers and maybe the media can stop obsessing over the shooters like they love to do.

I think it depends how far along they are. Once you've been deployed, it's too late. Anything up that point should result in a loss of benefits and reasonable reimbursement from the individual to the military for whatever they've consumed up to that point (as a deterrent).

I'm also of the opinion that anyone homeless that is convicted of a minor crime and is of sound body and mind should be conscripted into a mandatory 5-year military tour. Food, shelter, and discipline should set them straight.

In my current city, most of the homeless at veterans...

The only one that I was upset about was House of Cards but that's only because I wanted to know how it was going to end before KevinSpaceyGate happened. Season 5 ended on a massive cliffhanger and now I'll never know how the final season was really supposed to go down before Spacey got fired.

I'm split. On one hand, you signed a contract. On the other, if you're forced to stay in, you're going to be shit at your job and if deployed, could be a detriment to your fellow soldiers.

It's been over a decade since I was in the military but when I was in basic, you could quit. It was only available during basic. Possibly during AIT, I don't recall exactly. I believe it was a Chapter 11 discharge that you could request. Failure to adapt. Uncharacterized discharge with no eligibility for benefits. Drill Sergeants had no interest in training a recruit that didn't want to be there and would happily pawn you off to a Transition Center for out-processing.

Had one kid that refused to do anything in my BCT company. Wouldn't participate in PT, refused BRM and FTX exercises, even refused chow. Said that he was terrified of being deployed and didn't want to go through with basic anymore. Company Commander almost tripped over himself getting the paperwork together to steel toe his ass out.
