In this case, I think it's KBS not Yuehua, right? But yeah, Wang Yiren is kinda the face of Everglow. It's a very cute face too.

Was talking about Mia. They shamelessly throw so many lines in her direction. And to her credit, she takes it like a champ. Her live vocals are solid. iirc, Yuehua kept her from contest shows and generally she was one of those trainee's seemingly no one knew of.

I think my peeve with "Pirate" is that the lyrical concept kinda just got plopped in there. It sounds good otherwise. I'm totally there with Mia's vocals through the bridge.

I kinda don't like when a group gets too heavy on one member, but it's been fascinating how much YueHua has invested into her.

Ironically I've been less into Everglow.
I like the group, they nail their performances, I can't say the songs sound bad, but their direction has been something different to digest. I also wouldn't say that's bad. But "First" and "Pirate" are just taking some getting used to. It's not quite the catchy gimmick spa pulls for me.

IVE has sounded really good. It's a little "safe", but it's a nice showcase of how refined the group is as a whole to start. They are somewhat boosted by the IZ*ONE fame via Yujin and Wonyoung, but there is a certain quality not all rookie groups come with, and I think that just comes with Starship as well.

I'm totally not into Alexa's concept for her own work, and I get that she went for a more distinct approach into the industry, but she's great at doing things otherwise more "mainstream".

lol what I'm getting at is it's going to make mixed lyrics sound better, and then give some artists further international exposure hopefully yield more reward for their work ethic.

I mean even BTS isn't really great with pronunciation, but it helps as now they can perform for UN and collaborate with western artists. Of course, their popularity was established well before that (I usually think their collabs need them than the other way around), but it gives them more opportunities.

Also, I'm so excited for IVE. This teaser video is incredible and they will be the true successors of IZ*ONE. I trust Starship after how well they've managed Cosmic Girls.

It's a sub unit and the production is great. I actually been bad at getting familiar with every member but that unit does those 4 so much justice. Blockberry does an amazing job capturing the vocal and visual qualities. All the small things...ad-libs, dynamics in their vocals, eye looks, expressions, walks. It's a sensory piece. I sound like a dipshit for saying this, but its stuff weigh in female attraction. This body of work comes of practice and not just privilege.

Maybe only the gun handling is forgettable but that's not a central focus.

Secret Number kinda still being in the lukewarm ground, and it might be more of a promotion/management thing. Dita's vocals do a lot for the group's identity.
