Everyone sites Resident Evil 1 as the granddaddy of the survival horror franchise. Very few bring up Alone in the Dark, and even less bring up Sweet Home

Alone in the Dark was the first 3D survival horror, but Haunted House (Atari 2600) is definitely the granddaddy of survival horror. Trapped in a haunted mansion and must avoid spiders, ghosts, and bats while collecting a magic item to escape.

Some of the most iconic movie characters are giant monsters: King Kong from the King Kong movies, Gort from The Day the World Stood Still, and probably the most recognized the world over, Godzilla from the Godzilla franchise. Since its initial release in 1954, Godzilla has gone on to appear in multiple movies, video games, and merchandise. Now in its 70th year, the Godzilla franchise is celebrating with one of the most expensive commercially available merchandise items for the franchise: an 18-karat gold figure by jewelry brand U-Treasure.

To commemorate the release of Godzilla -1.0 (Godzilla Minus One) we have prepared a luxurious figure made of 18k yellow gold and silver.

The official Twitter account for U-Treasure announced the figure on March 7. There are 18-karat gold and Sterling Silver 49.5mm Godzilla figures. According to U-Treasure's website, only seven of the gold figures and 70 silver figures have been made. The site also states the figures were made using 3D data and master jewelers made minute adjustments to create the figures.

Both figures stand at 49.5mm with a width of 29.5mm and depth of 81.7mm (measuring from foot to tail). However, the gold Godzilla weighs 159g as opposed to the silver's 103g. The figures will also come with a 137mm by 127mm by 127mm display case and name plate (silver for the gold Godzilla and gold for the silver Godzilla).

Of course, with the quality and quantity of gold and silver used to make the figures, they each come out to a hefty price: 4,180,000 yen for the gold and 550,000 yen for the silver (about US$28,368.60 and US$3,732.71 respectively). So, these are Godzilla figures only the truly dedicated can buy. But according to U-Treasure's homepage, fans of Godzilla living in EU member states, the U.K., Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Norway will not be able to receive the figures as the company does not ship there. However, that doesn't mean they cannot order either figure as the online store will take orders from outside of Japan.

For a 70th anniversary product, the gold and silver Godzilla figures are quite impressive. Granted the price is a bit out of reach for the average Godzilla fan. If you're so inclined, both the gold and silver figures are still in stock as of press time.

A man who lived in an iron lung for seven decades after contracting polio as a child has died.

Paul Alexander, of Dallas in Texas, US, was paralysed from the neck down after contracting the virus at the age of six in 1952.

According to a GoFundMe page previously set up to help pay for Mr Alexanders care, he died on Monday.

Fundraising organiser Christopher Ulmer wrote: Paul, you will be missed but always remembered. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Mr Alexander died after being rushed to hospital with Covid, according to reports.

At the age of six, he was taken to hospital after developing polio symptoms and woke up inside a mechanical lung. Mr Alexander, who was given the name the man with the iron lung, lived inside it for the rest of his life.
The iron lung acted as a diaphragm to help Alexander breathe after a doctor performed a tracheotomy on him to remove the congestion from his lungs following his polio infection.

Because of his polio he was unable to breathe for himself.

He was unable to move or talk inside the metal casing, and would often go unwashed because he was unable to communicate with the nurses looking after him.

His father placed a clear plastic stick, flat and about a foot long with a pen attached, which he uses to write and push buttons on devices such as mobile phones.

Alexander was one of many children placed inside iron lungs during an outbreak of polio in the US during the 1950s.

Later, he learned to breathe by himself and was able to spend short periods of time outside the iron lung and got into university, obtaining a law degree.

He also published his own memoir in April 2020.

I knew if I was going to do anything with my life, it was going to have to be a mental thing, he told The Guardian in 2020.

Are there any other updates other than the graphics? I would hesitate to call this a remake since it...really just looks like a touched up graphics job. Any other stuff added? Like at least SMRPG looks WAY different. Paper Mario already looked great on the GCN, this just makes it look a bit better.
