Otherwise, we are looking at this Phi being original Phi's great grandaughter or something.

C team: Get Back

Shifted to Anthropic Principle, and a recording of Zero claims to have been executed by Carlos in that timeline. Q team was dead. In the Back to the Future talk, they did say that time travel could be in essence murdering by erasing the old, so Carlos is on the table. Mira and Eric are also possibilities, but not likely Q. Diana and Sigma are also dead, but that seems highly unlikely that they are Zero. I'm thinking Delta is probably Zero due to the most likely to being the old man from Sean's time among the living and having the family portrait in the Pod Room, but I haven't figured out how he was executed.

Taking place clearly after Diana released R-6, this is the timeline that Zero claims to be alive. Only D team should be alive, so unless Phi is somehow Zero, this all but confirms Delta is Zero and there's no need for another Zerometer. I guess someone could still be an assistant since I don't personally consider Sean to be one (his other copies are a different story).

Zero claims his intentions were kind of well-intentioned. Instead of the human race going extinct, two billion live. I can understand the rationale. We also have an update to the snail story:

The more I think about it, the more I believe that the Wildcats and Lions are officially eliminated. If Falcons beat Bucs and 49ers lose, I think the Falcons have a chance of winning on tiebreakers. However, I don't see how the Wildcats or Lions could leapfrog the Falcons in that same scenario.

It was probably just a knee-jerk reaction to the Diana/Sigma segment. The Ambidex fragment and Door of Truth return were pretty great with Ambidex possibly being my favorite fragment thus far. If the ending fragments/segments are closer to those two, I think that I will be relatively fine.

As I have stated, the overarching plot is not my concern when playing through these games, so I have little in the way of theories regarding it and thus have put not much thought to it. So to answer your question, I have absolutely no idea.

D team, Door of Truth return

The date of Phi and Delta's birth was the password, and as expected, this led straight to the Pod Room. Eric and Q were in pods but okay. Everyone else was in a pod and dead except Carlos. There was a team when Q or Eric asked where they came from. Sigma said there was no team to explain, but I'm sure it would take no more than two seconds to say, "Door!" and point in its direction.

Uh, SHIFTed Carlos is here in the lounge. That wasn't what I expected, and I have no explanation right now. I'm also concerned that Eric stayed behind in the pod room. He's totally going to go ape shit again isn't he...goddammit! Smooth move dropping the axe Carlos! Now everyone's life hangs in Eric's balance. Real talk though, if I was an unhinged person like Eric, I would probably have shot off the faces of those claiming to have transported and SHIFTed. He was holding a shotgun, so he probably couldn't have killed everyone if he wanted to, and assuming it wasn't reloaded from before Q team slept, it probably had at most one shell. I have absolutely no idea why Eric even complied with Diana's request that he shoot the wall.

After the steaming pile of crap sandwiched between now and C team's journey, I was totally on board with the twists that there was only ever one ward, the times were not the same for everyone, and everyone slept inside pods. Borrowing from VLR, D team used cards from Transporter Room to prevent themselves from going to sleep. I can only imagine the amount of confusion that is pouring through poor Eric's brain through all this.

It was also really neat to see that they completely changed the global flowchart to reflect this revelation. A new fragment opened up for C team, but I need to rest my brain after three intense sequences.

So Diana went on a rollercoaster of emotions that showed how imperfect she is. Taking the side that she is completely innocent in all of this (which as you know I wasn't on as this moment in the game) I don't blame her. She's basically in a prison that she doesn't know where or for what reason, and the only person there is basically a stranger. Things took a weird turn when Sigma revealed Diana's past of an abusive marriage, which also gives an alternative reason for why she didn't leave via the elevator in First Come, First Saved. This pretty much guarantees that Diana is the woman that Sigma spent a lot of time with and loved in a different timeline.

Things the took a horrible turn. Once disturbed Diana asked for sex, I had intense fears this was going to go down the Ever17 route and include contrived sex with significant plot implications. Then Sigma slapped Diana, and all was good. I SHOULD HAVE NEVER LET MY GUARD DOWN! My next fear was this was going to totally be Ever17 2.0 and that Diana was going to be pregnant with Phi from this. We seemed to be in the clear, so I once again let my guard down. NEVER AGAIN! Can this get any worse!

11/16/2029 (probably the password for the Door of Truth)

She had fucking twins. This is Ever17 all over again. When will this fragment end?! Normally, I would have been worried if this was going to take a sharp, dark turn after Sigma told Gab the food was gone, but I just wanted to get the hell out of that fragment. I guess they put Phi (officially revealed to be her at this point) and Delta in the transporter pods. Well, you know Delta is going to have a major role before long. I guess the worst possible one I can think of is that he was the cloaked killer of his parents and sister. I have a very, very bad feeling that I'm going to hate this game's ending the most in the trilogy.

Even though Akane is the one with the severe mental health problems, it was Junpei that was the first to lose it and planned on killing himself somehow. Sean drone put an end to that (I'm not sure what rule C team violated) and intended on killing everyone. He should have totally killed Akane as he launched her into a brick wall where the back of her head made direction contact, but I guess we aren't going to let that get into the way of the plot now are we!

Carlos SHIFTed after the moment he laid a fatal blow on Akane in Suspicion. What a lucky guy. This does make something else make total sense. When Akane did that 180 in the timeline when Carlos chose to kill himself, maybe Akane had shifted offscreen. So those Sean drones do present another option for who killed Mira and Junpei in Pop Off and Suspicion respectively. They certainly aren't an option for D Team's massacre in Suppression.

A new portion of Q team's Pop Off fragment opened up after Eric did not kill Q. The family portrait was in the Pod Room, and it says Twins' Birthday. There doesn't seem to be a way to open it, so I wonder if the opposite side of it is the Door of Truth from D team. The signs of struggle from Mira's fingers suggest that her attacker had blood, so the Sean drones are no longer an option based on what we think are facts. It's not like I have any theories for that or Junpei's death either.

Next portion to open up was D team's Transporter after Diana and Sigma went to another timeline, and I regret everything. First thing first is that the balls from the bomb from outbreak, which I believe contained the explosive material were missing. They spent almost no time on that, but I'm guessing something huge will happen concerning that and the writers want to be able to say, "But we foreshadowed it!"

I wonder if Carlos' housefire being the work of an arsonist is going to be important later. His sister also apparently has SHIFT powers. Aren't we going a little overboard with that? I didn't exactly understand why Akane insisted on bypassing doing the Ambidex game and attempt to force a SHIFT by making the reactor explode, especially given the earlier Back to the Future talk where SHIFTing could actually make you a murderer. I guess she is truly a psychopath.

A blue light must mean a SHIFT occurred, so I can stop being confused and freaked out by that. I still need to contextualize why SHIFTed Carlos chose to stay behind way back when. Junpei's plan for taking us to the dice roll where we didn't roll 1s was simultaneously insane and awesome. Carlos' reaction to hearing the ludicrous plan was totally spot-on. Ever more ridiculous was that the gatling guns should have gone off way before they actually did. I'm also not sure that no bullets should have hit Akane because that wasn't a particularly effective defensive formation. LMAO Akane calling Junpei horrible for his plan. If there was ever a pot calling kettle black moment...

After a long scene in which the takeaway is that Akane is a hypocrite, it was X Pass time. When it came time for the final one, Akane told me to use Carlos' Save. I thought I would be clever and use Junpei's Doll. Doll didn't work. Save didn't work. I was then forced to put in Doll again.

Carlos telling Akane straight to her face that her cute act is creepy is one of my favorite moments so far. Too bad it wasn't voiced and Akane didn't give a response. How on earth did she manage to get herself shocked? I would have assumed that she was one of the most careful characters in the game. Almost immediately after, I received a trophy that stated all quests were finished, so that's the last of the escape rooms? I'm not sure how that will sit with me if I have plenty of time left to go and minimal amounts of player interaction. I should remember to do a full ranking of escape rooms since my last was after something like six of them.

Ambidex Game within the Decision Game? I mean, the fragment did suggest that was going to happen, but I thought it would be modified into something more than what followed. The door leading out of here won't open until either Carlos or Junpei gets to 9 BP. Obviously allying twice is best for everyone as Carlos and Junpei's lives are also tied to Diana, Sigma, Phi, and Akane. I'm going to vote ally, but I'm about 80% sure that Junpei will betray because of Akane's stake in this and the final look he gave before voting. Yep.

Nothing new opened up, so I went back and chose betray this time. Much like VLR, the characters switched votes, and Carlos demonstrates that he has SHIFTing powers. Unfortunately, Akane went completely psycho. Good god, that was almost as brutal as people being showered with hydrofluoric acid. That was kind of bullshit though since she probably should have been hit with the muscle relaxer the same time as Junpei.

Once again, nothing new opened up, so I went back to the same point at the decision tree. This time, that freaky blue light from when Carlos decided to stay behind in whatever fragment that was (First Come, First Saved?) came down again. After a Back to the Future talk, I was told that SHIFTing and the morphogenetic field are essentially the same thing. I guess I can refer to it always as SHIFTing then.
