Finished Macross 7 re-watch. Best anime in my eyes. It's hard to articulate why, though...definitely a show to see and feel.

Did this with Crono/Marle/Robo on DS. Took a lot of grinding in Pre-History; mostly it's a DPS race, outhealing with Marle and setting up Robo to take damage while Crono deals. Haste Helms helped but they aren't available at that point on SNES IIRC.

Anyway, great job TC!

Finished Kamen Rider. The manga was pretty good. Definitely a world away from what one might associate with the shows, though. No henshin gimmicks, for example, he literally just put on the mask like a hat. Works in manga but I can see why they went about changing it for live-action.

Reading The Skull Man now. Ishinomori's original was a one volume affair, Shimamoto's take is longer and I believe the last manga Ishinomori scripted before his death. For a different guy drawing, the artwork is surprisingly good.

As one who deeply appreciates Gundam, I have absolutely no hope for Hollywood Gundam.

That being said, if it's bad, who cares? By this point the franchise is so self-contained that one live action film being disagreeable has absolutely zero impact on enjoying the what, nine series, three OVAs and two movies that are actually really good.

More important news: VOTOMs, Ideon and Xabungle have had their licenses picked up. It's a good day for mecha.

Tbh probably nothing new...I think the most recent release I've seen was from 2013. Basically I don't pay much attention to new shows unless a name I know is involved.

Lately I've been reading manga and slowly rewatching Macross 7.

Anyway on my to-watch list are Fafner Exodus, one of the PreCures and Iron-Blooded Orphans (which I'd rather not but will for a certain character).

Red Ribbon arc is legit one of my favorites, you've got great taste. Really stands up there with Saiyans and Androids.

General Blue in particular I really enjoyed. The bit where Goku saves the mouse is probably the most I ever liked him.

First of all good job Spidey, Dragonball is an adventure I've gone on and it sure feels like a slog at times.

What fight was your favorite, which characters do you like and why oh why wasn't Piccolo's aim a bit better, I'd pay cash money to see a darkest timeline starring the human crew

Moving on, I'll throw a vote in for Kaleido Star. It looks airy enough that you should be able to decompress from DB. Just don't dive into Kirby cuz I don't recall it being that good.

Edit: and Hiei that's no reflection on your recommendation. I only have vague memories of what was most likely a 4kids dub.

Yeah Deadwood is fantastic! Just saw it a few series ago.

Bill was a tough one but removing a big presence like his gives the whole rest of the cast room for growth. I reckon you'll feel agreeable towards it by the time season two starts rolling.

Tossing in my two cents: the same thing happened to a friend of mine but Diamond is so chill in comparison I still feel he's missing Araki's best by stopping at Stardust.

P6 is probably neck and neck with DiU as my favorite part my sig is in honor of Foo, my favorite character in the whole thing, so I've got no ill will if it does happen.

David better do a spectacular job is all *shakes fist*.

SBR would be fantastic either way though. Can't think of a scene in JoJo that demands animation as much as the first stage of the race.

Honestly after a few moments of introspection, I'd be totally fine if they ended the animation on five. Stone Ocean's art made my heart flutter and as much as I love David, I don't think I could stomach seeing some of those panels being fixed for BD.

Maybe we'll luck out and get PHF as an OVA or something.
