I tried switching to Linux to help me concentrate on other things. It did not help. I even got a Chromebook, figured that can't do anything anyway. Now I just dual boot with a Chromebook chaseer.

It helps if you are a seasoned Linux vet like I am seeing as I do 100% of my work on Linux, this was only natural to just give up windows which wasn't buying me anything anymore.

Finally quit the game last league after I did Uber Elder SSF. Game is too boring and repetitive. Despite metagame changes nothing ever feels new or different.

Two of the main hobbies I still have left.
I am doing this because I am tired and jaded of dealing with them as hobbies. Effective today I am moving towards a linux desktop environment to focus on just browsing the internet and programming. I also will no longer pirate any media for any reason because I've simply had enough.

My funs been ruined one too many times. Jaded, yes. I do enjoy fun, I just have so little time that it's hard to balance work, browsing the web and actually playing games. I tend to play games that I can play wile browsing or watching videos.

I feel the same thing sometimes... I think games are noticeably bad now because you have a lot of corporate junk trying to disguise themselves as art, and it's incredibly easy to get fooled into it-- it might take you 1, 5, 10, or 20 hours into your game before you realize everything is really cheaply budgeted for, sloppy, has zero replayability value, etc.-- and you feel like a fool for wasting your time and money.

One of my biggest things is a repetitive gameplay loop. Great example of this is in the game Silent HIll: Shattered Memories which basically comprised as running in a specific direction and jumping over obstacles. Environments looked different but the gameplay loop got boring after the first 5 minutes and the entire game was sloppy. Every game I play has very obvious gameplay loops like that but usually a lot less extreme.

In my opinion, older games were mostly art (out of love as opposed to money grab games/rushed/poor design intended for a quick sell) and it generated a lot more school conversation because the internet hadn't been much more than dial-up yet.

You were all right. Newer games are all universally awful and I cannot find games that I actually enjoy anymore. Everything is way too focused on action or player versus player content. If it isn't either of those, it's an indie game with a very repetitive gameplay loop that I am not interested in after a couple of hours.

I'm not even sure if I like JRPGs anymore, Purchased Tales of Vesperia Remastered and only put like 20 hours in it. I have to completely re-evaluate what I actually like in games.

- Social media is not public. It is the users fault for using bad platforms. Create a new platform without these censorship issues.
- The First Amendment protects you from the government limiting your speech.
- Corporations do not have to adhere to the First Amendment.

This is consumer's fault for not mass boycotting and being responsible adults. This is also the fault of media influencers who see nothing wrong with manipulating people for money.

I am making twice as much as what I was making 5 years ago, and I am making 5 times more money than I was in college. I also wasn't working when I had just got out of High School a decade ago.

If I listen to music, it generally gets stuck in my head (ear bug or whatever it's called) and really fucks me up. I've never really been interested in music so the only time that happens is if it's a video game OST or something from an Anime I've seen.

I'm posting this before I go to bed so lol.

And by "10 years" I mean "long enough to become controversial". I am getting very tied of the internet recently - I missed the old days before social media and I've currently been learning about how this generation has basically been brought up in a world where everyone is being socially rated all of the time. I feel really out of touch with reality. Also life is still pretty meh, but we all know I will never do anything about it. My one joy in life is still work too.

That was actually the first movie I watched together with my boyfriend, because he had never seen it before and totally wanted to.

Also, yes, I have seen Spirited Away. It's one of the Miyazaki films I have on DVD.

My current multi-year gaming binge of Path of Exile is rapidly coming to a close and I need to cut the head off of that hydra once and for all. The problem is I cannot find anything that is remotely interesting to play in the current gaming landscape -- The last time I switched main games was going from Star Trek Online to Path of Exile in 2016. Before that I mainly played STO from 2012 to 2016 with touches of CSGO in the middle and it's turtles all the way down from there.

I just don't know what to play. Everything out there looks boring and I am not a fan of PvP or games that guilt you into spending money. I also have around 1000 hours played in Warframe and I don't like the direction that game has been going in as of late.

And yes, they have to be multiplayer games with lots of replayability. That is like my thing.
