We were always told that the Dark Side is "quicker, easier, more seductive" than the Light, yet Kylo Ren is a character decidedly struggling with the Light Side calling him. He actively commits horrible deeds, including murdering his father, in an attempt to remain in the darkness. This is totally at odds with the original mythology, isn't it?

Or is it simply explained by Ben and Rey forming a "dyad in the Force," since their lives and destinies are intertwined, they don't necessarily follow the same path as everyone else. The Dark doesn't necessarily seduce them, etc.?

None, especially not sister since that is not-canon.

In the original film that connection is never made, and in the newest film it is intentionally ignored and even addressed in-universe as not being true.

Josiah_Is_Back posted...
I, personally, was leaning toward "Die" but after thinking about it some more, I voted for "Sister" instead. This is not in reference to Laurie, since in the new official canon she and Michael are no longer siblings. It's in reference to Judith, and the fact that ever since that night in '63 when Michael murdered Judith, he has never been the same. He has been the Shape, a formerly human mind consumed by rage and evil. Michael uttering "Sister" would perfectly convey the fact that even now, more than half a century since he murdered Judith, he has come no further -- no progress, no rehabilitation, he is still consumed by a drive to kill that began on that night and never stopped.

shit, you right
the rapid breaths helped a lot
stopped at 1 minute

From what I understand, the hyperventilation works because that uncomfortable "I have to breathe now!" feeling isn't so much due to the dearth of oxygen in your body, but rather the ever-increasing proportion of carbon dioxide. Hyperventilating apparently helps to lower the levels of carbon dioxide in your body so much that it takes longer for those levels to build up to a point where you feel you must breathe, hence you can hold your breath longer.

He should never speak. Not even going to entertain any other option than that.

I agree, but in this hypothetical scenario imagine you knew for a fact that they were going to have Michael utter one word in the final film. Let's even say, to spice it up, it was up to you. They give you the list of options in the OP, and tell you, you can even pick your own word if you don't like those, but Michael will utter one word.

Which do you choose? Which would cause the least damage to the mythology?

My $0.02:

If you have exigent financial considerations at the moment, take care of those first and foremost. Even if the $600 is not necessarily enough to rectify all your situations, it will help alleviate the burden.

If you are financially stable currently, set a majority of the $600 aside as emergency funds, and spend the remainder on whatever you want. Treat yourself.

So you basically said, "I'm worried I'll never see you again" instead of, "If you quit, I'll be losing a friend"?

Yeah. So I mean I guess I can partly understand how she could've misinterpreted that, especially if she's been stressing about a lot of things and not thinking clearly.

When she called and apologized, I also told her I'm sorry if I said anything in a way that lent itself to a misunderstanding.

You gotta understand though, we've been very open during our time together. She's talked about her sex life with her boyfriend, even told us when she was on her period and that if we smelled anything funky to let her know because she didn't wanna be walking around smelling up the place.

So that's why I was so taken aback by her overreaction.

It's all good now though

Let us see the innocent texts to be sure.

I don't have them, I deleted all my contact stuff with her from my phone when this first started because I was angry.

But the general gist of it was that she was saying she was possibly going to leave the company over her frustration with men in general (customers specifically), and I said that'll suck because I probably won't see her again if she leaves, seeing as her boyfriend doesn't want us hanging out (he knows I was once interested in dating her). She apparently took that as I'm insanely jealous of her bf because I want to be with her. Made a mountain out of a molehill.

At least she apologized and admitted she was wrong. I wouldn't have expected that.

Yeah, she is a very, very nice and friendly person, which unfortunately a lot of contractors misinterpret as flirting so she has to deal with comments pretty often. I had to put one guy on blast because he told her to her face (after she mentioned possibly getting a nose job in a couple years when she has the money), not to get a nose job because she probably has a bunch of guys already lined up to eat her ass.

this dude is known for being silly and raunchy, and she said she didn't really take it too seriously, but jesus christ come on

anyway, I can't really get mad at her. I mean, I'm hurt that she misinterpreted what I said, seeing as I felt we were relatively good friends and she understood me. But she did apologize to me personally and called HR to tell them it was a misunderstanding, so considering what was done was done, she did all she could do to rectify the situation.

What did you say to her?

We've worked together for over a year, and have shared very personal details with each other. She's just been stressing about a lot of things lately (school, sexist or misogynist comments from customers, family drama, relationship drama, etc.) so I sympathize. I mean, she and I are cool now, but I did tell her that we should only communicate at work from now on (once she returns to our store).

anyway, she was basically getting frustrated that I talk about her on-and-off boyfriend in a not so positive way (she never says anything good about him so what other opinion can I have about the guy?) and felt I was texting too much, when the frequency was the same it's always been.

she just needs to get her head straight.
