TopicMan gets tased after stealing cop's taser and threatening others with it
Josiah_Is_Back

There is no doubt that the decedent was the aggressor in the situation, but the question at the core of it all is: should the officer have used lethal force to stop him? The man was armed with a taser and had proven himself to be belligerent. Who knows what his thoughts or intentions were while clearly highly intoxicated. He could have tried to grab one of the officer's guns. He could have attacked people waiting in the drive-through. He could have just run off and that be the end of it. No one knows.

So I think it boils down to: could the officer have aimed for the man's legs to incapacitate him, and/or should he have?

I'm not going to offer an answer to that question because I cannot speak for the officer. I was not in that situation and cannot adequately understand the stress and thoughts and concerns that would be running through my mind. It's a situation that should be discussed fairly, but it certainly is not a killing as grievous as George Floyd.

"Practice does not make perfect because no one is perfect. Practice can bring one close to perfection, but the attempt is Sisyphean by its very nature. Inevitably the boulder will roll down the hill. The test of one's willpower is to continue pushing even when this happens; indeed, every time it happens. Do not get discouraged. Perfection is something to strive after, tirelessly.

If your focus is on achieving true perfection, it will slip through your fingers like sand. Do not regard it as an endpoint. View it as a beacon that forever remains too distant to reach, but the more you follow it the farther you will come."

I wouldve much preferred it being hinted at or explained in the context of one of the films instead of just the opening crawl. The idea of him coming back i was fine with. It was just terribly executed.

I read a YouTube comment that had a brilliant suggestion. Imagine if The Last Jedi ended with the Fortnite broadcast from Palpatine. Cue the shocked expressions of everyone, even Hux and Kylo, then cut to credits.

Hell with all the revised and edited shit Lucas has done, I'd be okay with Disney doing that.

Don't worry, the movie will literally spoil it for you in the opening crawl. It's not a spoiler in the sense you think.

I always thought Palpatine letting Windu win just always made sense for Anakin's turn? What narrative reason would there even be for Palpatine to actually lose the fight?

To show that he is not an unbeatable foe simply because of unsurpassed skills with the Force and lightsaber combat, but because of his political manipulation and emotional deception that would make even the most sociopathic of men blush. Even when he *should* be stopped, he somehow finds a way to circumvent his demise. Which is why his return in TROS is canonically consistent.

Everyone saying "how the Hell did he survive Return of the Jedi?!" and saying it's silly... do they not remember Episode III and the story of Darth Plagueis and the powers of the Dark Side?

"The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural" (a line even repeated by Sidious in TROS)

and

"Ironic... he could save others from dying... but not himself."

The latter line referring to Plagueis, and it's heavily implied Sidious was his apprentice. So the Emperor coming back in TROS brings all this full circle, and even implies that perhaps he already knew how to bring himself back from the dead way back in Ep III, and possibly knew how to save Padme's life, but purposely kept that knowledge hidden from Anakin.

George Lucas unequivocally stated that Mace Windu bested Palpatine.

Now, once Anakin arrived and it was all "I'm too weak, please help me," that was manipulation on Palpatine's part.

Okay, so a long time ago I spilled a drink on my laptop's keyboard, which ended up making it act wonky.

I bought a plug-in keyboard to take care of this problem, but now every once in a while the laptop's keyboard acts weird, like certain keys are stuck. The "3" key might be binded so it goes 3333333333333333333 until I blow underneath it and fidget with the key a little.

Anyway, right now it seems that the Delete key is activated. Any time the cursor is in front of some text, it deletes it automatically.

I'm trying to get my laptop to completely ignore its built-in keyboard and only listen to my plug-in.

I voted option 2, because I remember in ESB when Luke asks Yoda "is the Dark Side stronger?" Yoda replies, "No. Quicker, easier, more seductive."

So I don't think Yoda would gain strength or power in the Force, but he's a such a potent Force user that I don't see him losing anything in the process, either.

freezing + suffocation, trapped under ice lake.

Ironically enough, I believe this combination actually makes it more feasible for you to survive. I've seen a few stories where people were trapped under the ice of a frozen lake for several minutes (10-15) but when they were rescued they were actually revived and suffered no brain damage. Something about the super cold temperatures lowering their metabolism and heart rate so much that their body was sort of in a "stasis" mode.

Indeed. I can't even fathom it. I mean, I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but when you think about the difficulty of, say, keeping your hand on a hot burner (I think most people could only handle a second or two at the absolute most), to imagine that kind of pain across your entire body, and prolonged, possibly for minutes. Ugh, no thanks.
