When people say something like "alright, moving forward..." it means "we're moving onto the next course of business now," not "we're gonna wait around a while and take care of our next task at some point down the line."

If I was told "the meeting at noon is being moved backward by two hours," that would imply to me that it is now at 2:00 pm.

Backward and forward are opposite, so "the meeting at noon is being moved forward by two hours," that means 10:00 am.

I understand the sentiment, but such an analogy may push fringe people away because, to the general public, the Confederate flag and the swastika are probably not equally offensive symbols. The Confederate flag symbolizes the systemic oppression and dehumanization of slaves, certainly a horrible institution. The swastika, however, represents the outright slaughter of millions, the attempted annihilation of an entire people.

There are actually four states that are officially Commonwealths, I believe. Virginia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Kentucky, IIRC.

I'm not entirely sure, but I can say personally that when I've visited NYC... that's not a place I would want to live. It's far too busy, cluttered and jumpin'

I've always lived in the suburbs, which I prefer. Quiet, unassuming.

I just feel like NYC has too much noise, literally and figuratively.

I think we're both using "strong" in different senses here. I'm talking about pure strength, raw power. Jiren > Goku in that regard. As far as technical fighting ability, MUI Goku only gained the advantage after snapping because of Jiren trying to kill everyone in the stage.

Also, people like to bring up the argument that "Goku had Jiren beat, and would have knocked him off had his MUI not run out" as if that's somehow Jiren's fault. If Goku's body can't handle the technique that Jiren on his own matched, that's on Goku. In no way should that be held as a point against Jiren.

Ultra Instinct has been hyped as the technique no one can even touch.
Jiren actually connected with hits, temporarily knocked MUI Goku out, and when they were doing a battle of ki blasts, Jiren's one-handed overpowered MUI Goku's two-handed.

Jiren was stronger. It's undeniable.

If you are referring to the Hakai move, Frieza proved capable of withstanding the Hakai of both Sidra's and Toppo's Hakai attacks. Granted, Beerus is much stronger than either Sidra or Toppo; but Jiren is also echelons above Golden Frieza.

It would cost money , increase violent crime, make criminals not turn themselves in and make society worse.

There is no benefit to this at all beyond "I get pleasure out of it" and that's fucked.

(1) Do you know how much money it costs to house and feed prisoners for life?
(2) Actually it would deter criminals from committing the act in the first place because they would know what's gonna happen to them, so violent crime would drop
(3) Society would be better

Not all prisoners, only those that have committed unpardonable acts such as the rape and murder of a child. It's one thing for you to sit at your computer and claim it's wrong, but I wonder if you would feel the same way if you had a three-year-old daughter who was raped, tortured, murdered and mutilated by a sub-human monster.

The notion that revenge justice is wrong is inherently flawed because it's based on the premise that one wrong does not balance another, or that it's equally wrong to torture someone for doing it to someone else.

Bullshit. There's a huge difference between torturing an innocent child, and torturing someone who committed the act. If you can't see that difference, well then I guess the conversation can't go much farther, can it?
