We live in Atlanta, GA. Kind of crazy that schools universally still don't have a system setup in what to do if a staff member gets covid. I've done doordash as a driver and before you accept any order you already know what you were getting tipped, you aren't forced to accept an order you can just hit decline and another order will be sent. You can live off of ~$25-30k a year in my area, and most areas in the US, and $15/hour works out to ~$30k a year. I am totally for a federal minimum wage increase but anything over $15 is ridiculous. If states with a high cost of living want to make the minimum wage higher that is fine, though those states should probably also question why their cost of living is so high compared to other states. I think that if my parents can make such a good life for themselves on a teacher's salary then everyone should be able to as well. That's the problem though Duncan that people are trying to get you to understand. Do you know right now what your parents pay a month for their mortgage? What about gas/electricity/water/internet/your cell phone bill? I'm assuming your parents either have 1 car or 2 cars to get to work? If so do you know what they are paying for their car insurance? And lastly do you know what your parents spend a week on groceries for a family of 4? Now take into consideration what year did your parents move into your current house and compare it to the same square footage in 2021.
