There was still cash bail for those situations. That's why it only affects the poor. Is it equitable for a rich man to commit a crime and be able to easily afford cash bail to be released when a low income person who committed the same crime can't? So person A can pay their way out of jail pending trial but person B can't all because of finances? That's not fair or equitable. Is the poor person more or less of a flight risk than the financially well off person? Where will they go?

Likely what will happen is they will have to check in with something similar to a parole officer or they will be monitored with an ankle bracelet. That would make the most sense. Then they can still work and survive instead of languishing in a jail cell pending trial for a crime they may not have even committed.

Just because they only have one homeless shelter. They're speaking to the realities of the situation they were presented. They don't have the capacity for the homeless in their normal means but they've been stepping up and helping them anyway they can. Not sure how you can spin this negatively against the townspeople.

Haven't they just been taking care of the people that got human trafficked to them? I haven't seen them complaining.

Gotta say I'm jealous of some of my friends mortgages though. They were lucky enough to buy a house before it became a rich persons game. We were set to buy basically right before the market exploded now we're stuck waiting and renting paying 1700 a month because rent is outrageous too. 250 to 275k anywhere remotely near the city I live basically only gets you a barely liveable fucking shack

Yeah I was able to buy a house in January 2020 before the prices went absolutely crazy. I'm very grateful for that. I paid $295k and my house is worth $500k rn it's insane.

Things are pretty good right now but I always find a way to not be content. I'm the kinda person that's never satisfied so even after I achieve something I've been working on, I find some other thing to stress myself endlessly over. Just got a decent raise at my job and now I'm just like "still not enough need to be making at least 100k so I can really enjoy life and support my family without worry."

But I've learned a lot at my position and I'm gonna start looking at other jobs to see if I can get a big salary increase elsewhere. I've always heard changing jobs somewhat frequently is the best way to make more money

Idk how 100k is enough for a family anymore. I make almost that much as a single person and I don't live extravagantly and I still feel like I don't have enough.

It just changes the way cash bail operates so poor people aren't sitting in jail for a year or more while they await trial for crimes they committed. Cash bail only affects poor people.

No. I have this new job, and I'm already worried that my co-workers hate me because I'm always half-asleep and appear reserved and sullen during virtual meetings. Just one hour ago, one of my supervisors had sighed before calling my name to get me to give her a progress report of what I'd done for the day. Now I worry that the rest of them feel the same way, because they had all agreed in unison to drop the virtual meeting early.

Yeah I feel you. I went through it from 13 to around 31. Sometimes it takes A LONG TIME to go through it.

Have you thought about therapy at all? They can help teach you to learn to regulate your emotions in a healthy way. That's what I had to learn at least. Therapy is pretty much what changed my life. I'm not perfect and still have a lot of issues but at least now I know how to communicate and work through them.
