Yeah, I think it's coming this year, but outside of Japan the distributor would have to hold an event in your country to show it, which I imagine they won't do at all due to COVID no matter the individual situation in each country.

From the New World is another one that had an interesting world IMO.

i notice that these two animes and my favourite tv shows (sci fi) have one thing in common: fantastic world building. there's always a bigger threat introduced in new exciting and interesting ways. they all had me hooked like nothing else. if u guys understand what i mean and think of an anime that fits the bill, please do recommend!

I watched (the new) Hunter x Hunter but never got that far. I stopped after the Yorknew Arc I think it was called. Saw all of Demon Slayer and really liked it too, I would totally go to the theater in person to see the movie if they brought it here but probably not happening due to COVID. Sadly I've since been spoiled on a few things about it but I'll still watch the inevitable next seasons.

I'm guessing adaptation. Sequel probably wouldn't draw as much of an audience. 13 episodes is a little short for both games so I'd imagine it'd only be an adaptation of the first one unless it's really rushed.

They could also pull the whole "Liked the anime? Continue the story with the next two games" at the end.

Assassination Classroom is a 10/10.

The fact I am a teacher and how poignant it is in terms of my profession has nothing to do with it.

I kind of wanted to be a teacher but I had zero confidence in my potential ability to manage a classroom of bad kids.

Can't believe the original Madoka is coming up on being a decade old.

That part sounded looped at times both in Japanese and English to me. Really impressive if it was all one continuous take though (unless I'm misinterpreting what one take would mean here). I guess it wouldn't be too hard if you let yourself kind of pause a bit between sets of mudas though.

Eithet way the WRRRYYY scream was the coolest part to me.

Watched the first CCS movie. It was alright. Decently entertaining hour and twenty minutes or so.

I'm guessing the arrow card will pop up later in the series and I would've been confused as to when she got that, if I hadn't watched this.

God, Sui is such a little shit and I love it.

She was my favorite when I initially discovered the show back in 2006-ish. Upon my rewatch last summer I didn't like her as much.

Hinaichigo was the worst doll to me back then and now as well, but I found her a little more tolerable this time.

That's quite a bit of stuff, thank you. Will definitely save all this. Despite not having seen much mecha, I'm definitely interested in seeing more so this is pretty nice info to have. Out of what I have seen, my favorite so far was probably Turn A Gundam. In fact that's probably in my top 10 overall anime.

Patlabor did catch my eye a while back because I just happened to see the opening on YouTube, was indeed really catchy. Probably be a good place to start. Also not necessarily all mecha but the 80s aesthetic in general is really appealing to me (kind of how Zeta and ZZ looked/felt).

Interesting, hadn't heard of that. Honestly from that title even if I had, I probably mixed it up with that mobile game, Granblue I think.

Kinda weird to go from G-rated stuff to lots of fanservice and sexually charged scenes. Again it wasn't anything amazing but I did enjoy the two Betterman cameos, even if they were voiceless and from behind.

Glad to be done with it regardless.

What are some of your favorite mecha titles? I've been meaning to watch more. I've seen most of the Gundam series besides I think Victory and Seed (and sequels). I tend to lean toward the "real robot" side though I did think G Gundam was alright.

I started VOTOMS a while back and it was pretty cool but didn't get more than 10ish episodes in, so may just finish that.

Another thing to count could be "Yukito-san!"'s. Between that and hweeh it's at least 5-6 times per episode.

If someone wants to take on a truly monumental task they should try to count how many times Sakura does that "hoeeehhh?!"exclamation throughout the series.

Hit the half way mark in Cardcaptor Sakura. It isn't anything amazing but I'm never really bored when watching it. The hand-drawn art is also always nice to look at. Going to be the longest TV anime I've ever seen (besides Legend of the Galactic Heroes but that's classified as an OVA so I guess it kinda doesn't count) , but might be dethroned by Fist of the North Star soon after as I've been thinking about going through that.

I guess I'm supposed to watch the first CCS movie after episode 35? I just watched 36 before seeing someone say that.

Yeah, I have the 2013 series on my list as well.

Season 2 also introduces Kanaria who is pretty great.

I don't care too much for Suiseiseki despite the memes. She was kind of shrill and annoying.

In the meantime, started the second season of Rozen Maiden. More cute doll girl goodness.

Shinku is still one of the best anime characters ever.

When you're done with that (and Ouverture) I would recommend watching the new season that came out in 2013 (I'm pretty sure). Zuruckspulen or something like that.

It seems like it may have been unpopular but I liked it. Just kind of ignore the first episode.

I kind of want to watch that because of Doga Kobo but I don't know how entertaining a fishing show could be.

And decided to try it again. And it's really growing on me lol

There's just something about the atmosphere. Walking around the city as the day fades into evening/night, then going home to go to sleep. I feel the dated visuals actually enhance rather than take away from this.

Still my favorite anime after all these years.

2nd opening is great too.

Is Shenmue kinda like Deus Ex at this point? That is, the story and atmosphere are great, but the mechanics are dated, though not to the point of being a hassle to play.

I tried out the first Deus Ex and didn't really feel like I was going to be able to get through the game. Maybe I should give it more of a chance though.

I played it for the first time when the remaster came out and actually loved it.

2 a bit less so.

What is Shamiko even about? I see the demon girl with horns posted a lot on other sites. Is it like Gabriel Dropout with demon girls doing funny stuff on Earth?

For the Funimation full screen issue, I heard the problem may be because I have a touch screen laptop (a feature I never use). So I just jabbed my screen a bunch of times with my finger and the overlay/UI disappeared.

Just for future reference if anyone else has that issue. It tends to work but I have to touch a bunch of different places on my screen before I hit a spot that does it.

Not sure whether to start this or Doom Eternal after I beat FF7R.

I know it's a whole thing in Taiwan ("pili" I think it's called). I think TF was a joint Japan-Taiwan production but theres like 500 seasons of I'm assuming only Taiwanese ones.

I also played as Raven and Flynn here and there. Flynn just kind of felt like a slower Yuri though.

The others I didn't play as more than once or twice.

It is, IMO. Make sure you try controlling all the characters. Usually found myself playing as Yuri and Patty.

I've been wanting to watch the whole thing also because it's Urobuchi.

I doubt they ever will technically but I'll probably always want to get consoles because they always have exclusives that I want.

Beat Persona 5 Royal and RE3 remake, now towards the end of FF7 Remake.

Used the PS4 Funimation app, still prefer the browser but this was pretty nice too. I feel like a boomer just joining the 21st century or something with these newfangled apps.

Also the time card slowing down Sakura's voice in CCS was pretty hilarious.

Think I might just watch the highlights after all, lol. I got errands to run unfortunately.

Yeah, me and my friend went to a sushi place in town once and were seated. We sat for like 25-30 minutes and IIRC nobody even took our drink orders. We tried flagging someone down but we got a "just a second" and nobody ever came. We ended up just leaving.

I didn't want to bother and just let it go but my friend called and complained. I think they just said sorry we were understaffed. We've never been back.

I've only been to a few but San Diego Zoo is crazy. It's huge and easily takes an entire day to properly see everything.

There's the Wild Animal Park (I think they might have changed the name) too, so there's like two zoos technically.

I had a launch one, pretty sure, or at least a very early model (got it March 2006). I used it extensively up until around 2012 and it never red-ringed, it just started having issues with freezing. It got really bad with LA Noire. Luckily my dad won an "Arcade" model at some raffle and gave it to me. Looked exactly the same as the old one but I'm guessing it was newer. Just popped the old hard drive on it.

People actually still watch streaming services through the main website and not through an app? I haven't actually opened up Funimation or VRV's player on my computer in years because I always watch them on my TV through their Roku or Xbox One apps.

Yep, I always just watch them using the browser. Even Netflix. Generally when watching anime/any other show I feel a little more immersed when I'm right up next to the computer screen with headphones.

I'll check if they have a PS4 app though and maybe just watch that way on my TV. I can plug in headphones to the controller and it'd be pretty similar.

Only saw 1917 out of those.

Baby Driver for sure. One of my overall favorite movies. Dunkirk was pretty decent as well.
