A fair chunk of the scientific community will say that there's no safe exposure limit for any carcinogen, which means that literally any amount of exposure can end up causing cancer, but most of that just boils down to how impossibly difficult it is to pin down any single low-level exposure event as the cause of a cancer that develops 40 years later. There are a few exceptions to that (asbestos is one, since it causes a very specific, readily-identifiable cancer), but for the most part, low-level exposure to any carcinogen probably won't hurt you. Try to avoid it wherever you can, but don't lose sleep over forgetting a mask this one time.

Thanks. Grandma died of pulmonary fibrosis. Supposedly due to working in some sewing plant/factory back in the old days. So I get freaked out about inhaling bad shit.

TL;DR: You're probably alright, and if you aren't, you won't know for such a long time that attributing any cancer you develop to this specific event will be all but impossible. In the future, if you're doing something like this, wear a mask and make sure the area is properly ventilated.

OSHA has prescribed limits for chronic and acute exposures (<1 ppm average over an 8-hour shift, <5 for a 15-minute period), but that's generally based on the assumption that somebody will be exposed to that several days a week for a few decades. You still should try to avoid that 5 ppm limit in general (read: wear a mask and cut the stuff outside whenever possible), and I can't tell you exactly what exposure level you've experienced here, but I would guess that it's unlikely that this single exposure event has significantly increased your risk of developing cancer.

If it has, though, odds are you've got a couple decades before it shows up. Carcinogens generally don't work very fast unless it's a particularly intense exposure.

I dont know what this means but I cut them inside the rooms I placed them in. Sometimes Id throw my shirt over my nose. Other times Id hold my breath. Other times I wouldnt do either.

im assuming particles would be flying around for a while after cutting.

Heat gallon of whole milk to 185 F (I use saute setting)

Turn off heat and let it sit for a few mins

Water bath to cool down to 115 F

Add a spoonful of yogurt and mix well

Run 9 hour yogurt cycle (I start before bed)

Fridge until cold (I just do 12 hours from when I wake up until dinner time)

Strain out whey (12-24 hrs depending on desired thickness)
