Cities like NYC and LA don't really have to try to be appealing, there's always something to do
Yeah if you're the type who is a homebody then you can live pretty much anywhere, but for those people who are outside at night and trying new things there's not much else you can live. Major cities like Miami, Denver, Kansas City, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, etc. have a lot going for them, but now we're not really addressing the problem just putting a bandaid on it (plus these cities are still nothing like NYC or LA to people who actually live there).

Like a lot of people I gained weight at the beginning of Covid when we went into lockdown

I began to take the weight loss seriously around the time I was fully vaxxed (May 2021) as I felt like things were getting back to normal and I didn't want to be overweight with no excuse lol. I was under 200 by Christmas and I've been 180 for a few months now

Nice! How did you do it?
I pretty much ate the same thing every day. V8 energy for breakfast (50 calories), a protein shake at lunch (200 calories), and for dinner chicken breast made in the air fryer with whatever spices I felt like that day, frozen broccoli tossed in a pot with a little butter, and rice (total 800 calories). I only drank water or Arnold Palmer zero's (10 calories per 8 oz) the rest of the day.
Whenever I wanted a snack I had already made options of: 1/4 cup macadamia nuts (250 calories), oranges (about 50 calories each), hard boiled egg (80 calories each), jerky (300 calories a bag), yogurt (100 calories), or this keto ice cream bar (180 calories a bar, I was not keto but it still tasted good)

I also started buying gym equipment so I could do some basic weights, rowing machine, elliptical, bench press, etc. but I only did like 30 min a day. Basically with eating the same thing for every meal and letting myself eat two of the snack options, I was still under 1500 calories for the day without having to follow IMF or OMAD or something
I also had a cheat day on Saturday where I let myself order takeout or cook up a steak or go out drinking. Never really felt like I went overboard but there were a couple days I ate a large pizza by myself or a pack of oreos, the important thing was I made sure it didn't get me down and I continued on Sunday like normal. That might not work for you if you have binge eating issues and it creates a downspiral

intermittent fasting ONLY works because it slaps the donut from your hands late at night when you are tired and maybe drunk.

really it gives you a rule that increases your discipline. much more empowering to know you're losing weight not cause of some fad, but because you have that discipline.

im about 1 day from cutting out all bread and pasta too. gonna be hard at first but im not fucking around this time.

i was 240 lbs, 18 months ago.

I started dieting, SORT OF, but I drank a lot. like 700 calories of vodka a day.

got down to 220 in May of this year. Started running. Started calorie counting. stopped drinking like a crazy person. got down to 209 on august 1, then i bought a gym membership 31 days ago.

now im 194. that's 15 lbs in a month.

fuck yes. it's so much better.

i literally have to go pants shopping this weekend because i only have 2 pairs of pants that fit. i bought some clothes in july (38/32 pants) and they already don't fit.

i got a pair of jeans 2 weeks ago, 36-inch waste cause i didn't think i would get thinner so quickly. they are ALREADY TOO BIG, but at least i CAN wear them with a belt, for now.

I have to go buy 1 pair of 34s this weekend, even tho i need more pants i know i should just wait until im in 32s. even if i lose more weight, 32s will never swallow me whole.

im gonna bodybuild for real this time also, so I dont really want to get smaller than that.

i have a box of old 32-waist jeans in the closet.

im vegetarian.
This is so interesting to me! At my heaviest I was 230lbs at 6' and I was only a 34 waist
I'm down to 180 now and I'm a 30 waist. Losing 50lbs really only narrowed my waist by 4 inches

Hopefully nothing serious, said if it gets worse to go to my primary care and get an MRI

I get where Leguizamo is coming from, but this specific case is not actually a part of the whitewashing Hollywood always does.
It also doesn't that Leguizamo has a problematic past himself with taking roles, admittedly norms change and people grow, but it's still something the Right will use against him.

The bigger problem is that Franco is a POS creep who shouldn't continue to get roles.

They had a new game every year or two until VII (understandable because of the jump to 3D) and still put out a new entry every 3-4 years until XIII and XIV, and now we're going on six years since XV.

Most people treat retail as a temporary stepping stone to something else, so I get why someone would say that
While true, there are many examples of retail jobs that are career moves that pay well. Pharmacists, Optician, etc. can often be retail but pay really well. Managers can make a lot of money and in specialty stores (paint, flooring, wood, automotive, etc.) you don't deal with standard customers like grocery, clothing, or big box stores -- similar to how a matre d at a 5-star restaurant has different clients than the McDonalds manager.

She's not wrong.
They deserve props for having decent diversity in their leads and especially in phase 3 and 4, plus the tv shows are more diverse. However, they get whiter when you look at the supporting cast and villains. No repeats -

IM1: Tony, Pepper, Happy, Stane, Rhodey, Coulson = 4 white men, 1 white woman, 1 black man
TIH: Banner, Ross, Betty, Blonsky = 3 white men, 1 woman
IM2: Nicky Fury, Black Widow, Whiplash, Hammer = 1 black man, 1 white woman, 2 white men
CA1: Steve, Peggy, Red Skull, Bucky = 3 white men, 1 white woman
Thor 1: Thor, Jane, Loki, Odin, Sif, Heimdall, Warriors 3, Darcy, Selvig (including these two because they show up in a lot of other movies) = 6 white men, 3 white women, 1 black man, 1 asian man
Avengers: Hawkeye = 1 white man
IM3: Mandarin, Killian = 1 half indian man, 1 white man
Thor 2: Malekith = 1 white man
Cap 2: Falcon, Sharon, Crossbones, Pierce = 1 black man, 1 white woman, 2 white men
GotG: Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Drax, Nebula, Rocket, Ronin, Collector = 3 white men, 1 latina/black woman, 1 Filipino man, 1 mixed man, 1 hispanic man
AoU: Wanda, Pietro, Ultron, Vision: 1 white woman, 3 white men
Ant-Man: Scott, Hope, Hank, Cross, Luis = 3 white men, 1 white woman, 1 hispanic man
Civil War: Spidey, T'Challa, Zemo = 2 white men, 1 black man
Dr Strange: Strange, Wong, Mordo, Ancient One, Kaecillius = 2 white men, 1 asian man, 1 black man, 1 white woman
GotG 2: Yondu, Ego, Mantis = 2 white men, 1 asian woman
Homecoming: MJ, Vulture, May, Ned = 1 black woman, 1 white man, 1 white woman, 1 asian man
Thor 3: Hela, Valkyrie, Korg, Grandmaster, Executioner = 1 white woman, 1 black woman, 1 pacific islander man, 2 white men
BP: Kilmonger, Shuri, W'Kabi, M'Baku, Nakia, Okoye, Ross, Klaue = 3 black men, 3 black women, 1 white man
Infinity War: Thanos, Eitri = 2 white men
Ant Man and Wasp: Ava, Janet = 1 black woman, 1 white woman
Captain Marvel: Carol, Yon-Rogg, Korath, Maria, Talos = 1 white woman, 2 white men, 1 black man, 1 black woman
Spidey 2: Mysterio = 1 white man
BW: Yelena, Melina, Antonia, Red Guardian = 3 white women, 1 white man
Shang-Chi: Will, Katy, Nan, Wenwu = 2 asian men, 2 asian women
Eternals: Thena, Black Knight, Sersi, Gilgamesh, Ikaris, Ajak, Druig, Kingo, Sprite, Makkari, Phastos = 2 white women, 3 white men, 1 asian woman, 2 asian men, 1 hispanic woman, 1 black woman, 1 black man
NWH: Spidey 2, Spidey 3, Osborn, Ock, Sandman, Lizard, Electro = 6 white men, 1 black man
DS2: America Chavez = 1 native woman
Thor 4: Gorr = 1 white man

You can't just say "oh yeah there's a ton of diversity when you look at the leads" when all the villains and side characters also tend to be white (and male)

I think there are two major complaints against him.
The first is that he seems to need a tight leash. The projects he gets more creative control on seem to be more divisive, especially when you consider his style of humor is very hit or miss with people. People seem to dislike his constant need to insert wit and zingers at the cost of derailing the movie. Even moreso when you consider his need to insert characters played by himself (most movie people look down on directors and writers who do that outside of minor cameos).
The second is that his personal life seems messy. He was married to a woman for years, cheated on her with his personal assistant and went to the Oscars and had the mistress up front next to him with his wife in the back, had a public throuple with her and Tessa Thompson, etc. He rarely sees his kids and when he does he posts nonstop about them (did something like over a hundred Instagram reels over two days) to make it seem like he's a good dad while his ex-wife is upset he basically abandoned them the second he got mainstream famous. New Zealanders don't like him because he's basically containing the stereotype of being an alcoholic and cokehead despite being probably the most famous Kiwi currently.

So you have people who watch movies go "this guy seems a bit full of himself by putting himself into his movies, also his humor is nonstop so you rarely get a chance to breathe" and then you get people who look at him as a fucking mess who won't stop cheating on women and abandoning his kids the second he became Disney's prince while getting held up as a progressive voice who is an upright moral citizen.

To me I don't see why people care that much about 100% completion. It's the same reasons why I hate trophies and achievements. I play games to have fun, not to fill a checklist. I didn't know you could fight Malenia until after I beat the game and I did not feel like I was missing content

If the internet didn't exist half the complaint about ER wouldn't happen. Everyone complains about having to follow a guide to do quests but why do you have to do them?

You guys know the station owner doesnt control the prices and they only make cents per each gallon sold, thus why convenience stores are such a big part of a stations bottom line.
Yup. It's just the way the industry works

Gasoline is shipped to the stations but it's not paid for straight away. When you're at the pump paying $4.99 a gallon it cost the owners is the gas station basically $4.55 a gallon, they make their 4 cents and send the rest to the oil company

This is done so the price can change throughout the day

So if the cost to the company was $5.69 a gallon at that moment, they literally lost $5 a gallon and had to pay the oil company who doesn't give a fuck
