I had already dropped a few comedians before posting this topic, yeah. I think Pryor and Leary (thanks to his acting career) have the appeal to stay and I'll keep Hedberg on for sentimental value, but Andy Dick's gone now.

IngmarBirdman posted... List seems awfully exhaustive for a monologue meant to resemble actual conversation... reminds me of a spec script I once read where the climax was a poetry slam and the main character had four pages of uninterrupted dialogue. (Me, to the author: "COMPULSION was a fluke.") Then again, writing for the theatre is probably different.
Valid point. The role of my newscaster that's introduced in Act Two is two-fold for me: to show how the true conflicts of the play have escalated to national news, and to address how much the drug is involved with the world around us. She'll have a similar (and already smaller!) monologue listing the names cocaine goes by as well.
Long lists like those can get boring quickly, so I'm having additional fun with her by having the same actor play Gemini Lewis every time she delivers the news...but have her deliver the news a different way each time too. She delivers it normally at first, then she drops her hair and immediately takes a harsher approach to the news (even to the point of talking trash on the previous news-station for not getting the breaking news first). She'll probably do some radio-DJ'ing and web-blogging later too to keep the variation alive.
Besides all that, I don't think of news-anchors as being particularly conversational unless they're in an interview or something with other people.

Tyrone's great, but one fictional character only! I'm not against replacing Sherlock with him, but I've already got an ode to Chappelle Show/Rick James by the same newscaster ("Crack is whack, but cocaine...cocaine's a hell of a drug.").
I saw somewhere earlier today Mitch died of an overdose on the stuff. I didn't check its source too closely, so I'll investigate later.
I figured more pro wrestlers should be on, but I saw Bam Bam and Curt had died from it, so I went with them.
Kurt Cobain, good one.
The Real Truth posted... Most of these people aren't important.
Haha, especially the first few I started off with. Still, that's a sign I should narrow this down.
Psycho_Kenshin posted... I thought we'd see some B8ers on here, that would've been A+++ if ya ask me.
If B8'ers are famously hitting the rocks, I've clearly missed a lot more on the board than I thought lately!

Care to advise me on who you think is important enough to add or not important enough to keep? It's for a monologue a newscaster in my next play will give about the drug, but I fear my list became too big. Any inaccuracies pointed out would also be appreciated.

Metroid Prime and Super Metroid are great, and the original Metroid catches too much hate. I've also enjoyed the little bit I've played of Metroid: Zero Mission.

Thanks for the picture! I was hoping to see a general list of things they've done with SFxT too, but that will do. I was mainly wanting to double-check the facts against Capcom to make sure I'm justified in not rebuying MM9/buying MM10...
...but it could be fun to make a scene to show off what Capcom's done, too. =)

This generation's all I'm really looking for. The Mega Man-trolling, DLC-abuses, all that fun stuff -- is there a solid time-line anywhere detailing this?

That was probably the best episode yet this season. The ending song was meh (though it makes more sense now), but Grandma Stotch and the bathroom-scenes were great. Butters's ending monologue was quality too.

Shadow Complex was a fun demo. That said, I still have Metroid: Fusion to play from the Ambassador-program, so that'll be my next Metroidvania-kick when I get to it.
The Sposion-series is neat. I'm not crazy-impressed by those games, but they do what they do well. Do they stay fresh as you get deeper into the games?
I'm not too familiar with the rest so far (Shank's, Fex, Skullgirls, Dishwasher 2), so I'll look for their demos soon.
My friend has also begged me to buy ilomilo, which seems to be maybe the cutest game I've seen in a long time. Its demo was quality too, so it may be a nice contrast after finishing Bioshock!

Any recommendations on Xbox Live? I'll be spending some points to re-purchase and re-kick-the-ass-of Super Meat Boy, so I should have 800-1,200 left to get something I haven't played before.

Backtracking's not an issue since I never felt compelled to do it in BS after leaving a map, and I'm not much for DLC. Still, I may play it since BS was quality and Bioshock Infinite looks incredible.

I understood that Bioshock 2 picked up from the point where you became a Big Daddy in the original Bioshock, but I don't know if that's such a good point to pick up from or not. My brother suggests its story-line is rather separated from Bioshock 1 in how whoever Bioshock 2's antagonist is was never really mentioned in BS1 and that you explore much more generic places than where BS1 had you see, but the tonics/plasmids still advances from the original too.
I'm somewhat in KingButz's boat about what to play next. I'll probably play Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations just so I can finish that trilogy, but nothing is certain right now.

Side-question: how's Bioshock 2? I understand it's worth playing if I played BS for the gameplay-mechanics while it's worth skipping if I played for the atmosphere/world. I'm in the latter camp, though the plasmids/tonics were pretty great.

pjbasis posted... Did you think Sander Cohen was the best part in the game?
Probably, yeah -- it's my brother's favorite part as well. Fort Frolic did a lot to play off of Rapture's beauty. A highlight of the game for me was in its frozen chamber. I nailed an up-close-and-personal headshot on the frozen enemy coming to life here with nothing but an anti-personal pistol shot and my reaction-speed; I was almost disappointed at how quickly it ended, but it was definitely worth wrecking his s*** like that.
TomNook7 posted... Do you know what a comma splice is?
I don't recall any comma-splicers in Bioshock.....
Seriously, here's a sign that I've been playwriting too long. Writing properly =/= writing conversationally...whoops!

I went into the game understanding there were multiple endings, which didn't bother me. One spoiler I had unfortunately heard long before playing was the "Would you kindly?" mind control, but it was still neat to see it fall into place.
Speaking of Ryan, he and Atlas/Fontaine were great to follow through-out. The antagonist-twist reminded me a bit of Portal 2.

I saved every Little Sister. It was classy but short; I didn't expect it to cut back to the opening menu so quickly. I suspect not saving them all gives me free reign over the city, but in some negative light somehow (Rapture's a fantastic world, even if it's not necessarily admirable).

The first third of the game was the right direction for this game -- the rest was okay but unimpressive. Once it really embraced puzzles, I realized there was nothing about Limbo that Braid didn't already do better.
If I haven't rated Braid before, please give it a 10 for me!
