Stopped playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney because my totally real and legitimate Nintendo DS that existed in actual physical space couldn't register the mic blow needed for the forensics feature. My mic BARELY worked. I made it work, but then I got so light-headed I got up to get some water and ended up falling down and breaking a cooler. It was the first game that caught my attention for what a narrator in a game could do. Like...Portal was doing it do to some degree beforehand, but Bastion really nailed the sense of having a oersonal narrator first. That soundtrack was crazy too -- not perfect, but varied and exciting. I tried to get into Transistor twice and could not get myself to go far either time. I've caught wind of Snow Grave to replay Chapter 2, but I don't see why one would replay Chapter 1. Already beat Jevil...not clear there're more to do there. Also, it looks like each chapter's allowed three save slots... Two notes though: 1) It would have heightened the intensity if one of the late-game EMMIs broke out into the rest of one of the lands. 2) Make the EMMI territories more interesting after they are defeated. With the exception of the Drone Teleport power, my latest new discoveries feel small and not really closer to the end of the game so I'm still stuck on where to go despite re-revisiting areas. I think I'm still storyline-wise at the part where I'm looking to meet me but not kill me...game's weird. I like its strengths enough but it's weird and frustrating too -- Metroid Dread spoiled me. Anyway, I think this area's blocking off the rest of the game for me -- maybe, who knows. It sounded like things had been prepared in a will, but it's been a few months now and there's no sign of anything outside of his life insurance available for people to find. Because of this missing or non-existant will, everything he owned went to the one family member he did not want anything to do with. His family didn't even have a public service for friends, and it's not clear to me his family held a service either. I say that to say...if you care about where your stuff goes after you pass away or you have people you care about helping in some way after passing away, get a will and do it right. Now. Go do it. There's never a great time so go do it and get it done with. Interesting show! I like the comment from earlier about the theme regarding the illusion or even the attempt of equality versus the reality in execution (so to speak). The show speaks a lot to debt and desperation as well as the voyeurism from the financially stable, but this resonated with me too. And yeah there are some points of the show that doesn't hold up under scrutiny, I think that's fair to say. Sure, HK's world had more personality and we've seen unique takes on existing paths before like Symphony of the Night, but backtracking's never felt so varied before to me. Solid game.
