I hated the Tetris pieces...only one where I needed help figuring out what they were asking for from the beginning, and then my mind was nulled by them by the end after gathering the basic rules.

Doesn't stop it from being one of the best games of the decade though. GameFAQs polls don't give proper credit to games by Jonathan Blow.

Agreed. It brings me to a new prediction:

Thinking about the way all of BB built toward Hank's face-off with Walt at the end to be his greatest foe and it really got kicked off in their final half-season brings me to a new thought: Saul has nobody more capable to going toe to toe with him left than Howard and Kim...and it looks like this plan against Howard is happening at the end of this half-season finale in the next episode.

I suspect this audible Kim's doing messes Howard up, badly, like to the point where legal repercussions are inevitable...and Saul blames Kim for not listening when he said to call it off. This then leaves Saul and Kim with the final half-season not only dealing with the fallout of their plan but also figuring out their loyalties to each other in the midst of an inevitable investigation.

If true, BB suggests Saul gets out of that conflict okay. That would leave Kim to take the fall once again, only this time she can't blame Jimmy as much as she can blame herself.

I dunno, this assumes the writers want another series-long build-up for a formidable opponent.

What are some other ones worth recommending?

I prefer no items, but also I would be very unhappy to see Smash lose its items. These others games without items are missing an opportunity, agreed.

I know Kim's slick, but she just turned onto Bad Choice Road and is about to break bad. I don't count on this going smoothly.

Also interesting to see Kim's mom in this light. She seems like the kind of wolf Jimmy learned at a young age to become...explains some of that attraction.

The prizes are fun but really it's about the celebration of the games. I don't need the chance to win something tangible to get excited over seeing a bracket or even just a poll about your favorite Metal Gear game (which we never had to my knowledge -- closest we got was SotC facing MGS2/3/4 in a division and MGS1/MGS3 facing off). You could still get my attention for a random Joker VS Vader poll out of nowhere too.

Anyway the show remains exciting and engaging, but I don't feel like the show has continuously improved over and over again like I did with Breaking Bad. I feel like BCS peaked with Chicanery, which was amazing.

I'm predicting Gene, Kim, and Howard all live -- mostly unhappily -- and has the show achieve a different tone from Breaking Bad. While BB was all about the power-fantasy without regret, I think BCS's going to lean more towards the potential for redemption or owning your mistakes.

So hard to tell with this writing team. Love it.

The video's good, but there's a small point I wish it would have made.

When Mr. Acker calls Kim out on being the kind of person who donates to feel better, that feels like a reference to when that judge eating lunch in his office previously told her there are no heroes in these court cases and she should instead donate to charity. She's been getting pushback on both sides of the court on how to bring good with her profession while also getting Jimmy's allure in her personal life along the way. That can warp one's senses along the way.

Final Fantasy X is two months away from buying its own beer.

Don't know that I've ever seen this opinion before. I've heard of some people not sure that it was a great episode to end on though. I'm of the camp that Felina survived its hype and that was very hard to do, personally.

I feel a lot of things about this sentence. Yes and no.

Regarding the larger context about the rest of the post, multiple satire sites has multiple niches and they seem to do fine elitist or not. Is satire inherently elitist? I kinda think so since there is an assumed understanding before it's read that someone will read it literally unlike you the smart one, but I'm not sold yet. Hard-Drive, Reductress, Babylon Bee, what have you -- any that's not the Onion or the general genre of political cartoon comic strip probably ain't big enough to not be inherently niche. That's just joke structure and audience size before even touching on understood references like double-jumps.

What does that niche audience know? Epona's in the opening scene of the most celebrated game of all time. Agro was in one of the biggest PS2 games and had a popular PS4 remaster. People know Elden Ring just came out and is huge, but I wasn't sure Torrent was as well known. I don't really know the age
emographic for Hard-Drive but I played it safe with whether or not people knew it. I figured knowing rhe name of Torrent and its power of super-jumping was the most niche information referenced to their audience, but it may not be (might be Agro's name that's most obscure).

I think this sentence of yours is the safe bet and the broader truth, but there is room for exceptions including some I've submitted for more obscure games. I don't live or die by it, as reasonable as it is.

Paraphrasing a quote I heard before: "Dissecting a joke is like dissecting a frog...few people enjoy it and the frog dies of it."

That said, I try to keep the opinion that jokes are disposable and the best jokes are the next jokes.

Right off the bat, I do generally agree with word economy. I'm wordy sonetimes for flavor and sometimes as a failure to shorten further.

I had a punchline class with a person who used ro write behind the scenes for MadTV as well as write for Mad Magazine. This was years ago and that doesn't make me the pro, but the thing I took away from it was not just punchlines but punchwords. The philosophy shared was to save them for the end so they have the build up for the established from the rest of the set-up to support it. I've adapted the phrase of punch phrase as well for similar logic.

So, the latest one about the horses.

The intended premise: horses double-jumping is uniquely audacious. It's maybe the most video game'y thing I've ever heard and it's awesome for that. I bet other horses would be jealous.

The intended reading: [Most famous regular horses] [are jealous of] [new super-horse] (for a reason to make the joke more accessible)

Then, if selected to write a headline, I would have been interested in getting more horse quotes. Alas, the only horse quote we got is their silence of rejection telling me neigh.

As is though, I ran with the funniest phrase of that to me which was "Torrent The Double-Jumping Horse"...but if the funniest part of the bit was the jealousy, which I think would be fair to say, I could have played with that ordering and made something more like Epona And Agro Play Elden Ring, Refuse To Give Torrent Its Due...or, with the angle of word economy, Epona Plays Elden Ring, Skips Torrent.

^ that last one is in-tune with an article they did recently about players choosing not to learn a game mechanic out of pride. Maybe that's what they'd want. shrug*
