But I've seen some butt ugly guys out there with decent looking women. Kinda breaks all the rules.

And women, from my experiences, have just as high of sex drives as men....they just don't actively show it, because of social taboos about how women are supposed to behave.

I think the problem stems from the fact that it is the man's job to actively seek sex. Women are trained (by nature) to be passive and just wait for the males to approach. He needs to make all the moves. She has the privilege of just being able to accept or reject his offer. (However, in the wild.....it's usually rape for most mammals, lmao...?)

Because it is the man's job to initiate sex/relationships.....women never need to work for it. Which is why it is easier for women to get laid. it requires no effort on her behalf. She just has to be female...and exist....and the offers come in.

The gaming industry needs to get its shit together.

The only mobile game that I can think of (off the top of my head) is Ys Seven for the original PSP. It was probably the best handheld game I've ever played. Not only because it was fucking amazing....but also because it was one of the few handheld games that allowed you to literally save at anytime, anywhere, and the saving process took less than 3 seconds. It was just like: press start, go down to save, press x.....bam. Move the fuck on with your life. Catch the bus. Eat dinner. Hide your PSP under your desk before your teacher/boss/darklord sees.

But most other handheld games I've played require you to actually take your character to a physical save station of some kind in order to actually save.

And handheld games are more and more often designed as though they are console games....with long cutscenes, extensive dialogue, deep dungeons, puzzles, lengthy boss battles, etc........and you might only have a few opportunities to save. So playing on the go can become a nightmare.....because if you need to turn it off for any reason, you risk losing progress. A lot of progress.

Also, wtf is a darklord? Do you have a darklord in your life?

If we were truly designed by an intelligent entity, it wouldn't have made like 80% of humanity's jaws smaller than their wisdom teeth could fit in. Pretty fucked up if you ask me.

We also wouldn't have so many complex needs in order to survive. And it's absolutely sad how few of those needs are actually met for most people. It's almost like God programmed us to constantly be depressed.

Most other animals on the planet just need a basic defense mechanism and the ability to eat.....and they're happy as shit.

Well that's the problem: we seem to think having a purpose and making money is more important than progress as a species.

While that magical enamel-protecting substance would practically remove cavities, tartar build-up, the need for fillings, crowns, root canals, and all that other expensive shit overnight..............it would also put a lot of dentists and doctors out of a job.

Even though, ironically, it is a dentist's and doctor's job to protect people's teeth!

But they would be furious by the creation of this substance, because it would make all their years in medical school worthless. So they wouldn't want it to be released to the masses.

Sorta like those oil tycoons who paid scientists working on solar technology millions of dollars to STOP THEIR RESEARCH.

There's a difference between being cynical....and being skeptical.

There's also a difference between being pessimistic....and being realistic.

I wish more people could realize this. Because I think some of my friends and coworkers often lump me in with pessimistic cynicism....when it's actually just realistic skepticism....and it's usually justified from things I've learned and experienced over the course of my life. And that's kind of important.

So anyway......I went to the dentist the other day for a routine cleaning....and, for whatever reason....I just had this weird stream of thoughts assault my brain. And I just can't stop thinking about it. So I thought I'd share it with the board by posing this question:

If some incredibly gifted scientist/chemist invented a new substance tomorrow.....(a substance that had very peculiar properties that behaved like normal chewing gum (and actually tasted good) but had the side-effect of bonding to your enamel with an extremely strong (and transparent) coating that protected your teeth from literally everything for up to 24 hours, with NO negative side-effects, and was extremely cheap and easy to produce).......don't you think there would be a lot of dentists and doctors in the world who would actually be UPSET by this?

Because that's the strange conclusion I came to.

People would actually be upset by it.

People would oppose it. People would demand he not make it public. Medical/dental communities would demand he limit the distribution of it somehow.

He might even be murdered for it.

What do you think? And why do you think I would come to that conclusion?

Bigotry "expressed" in video games is still bigotry???

"Expressed" is the key word here, and it can be vague as hell.

I can't think of a single video game that actually PROMOTES racism in any way. They just might have some racist aspects, but those are usually part of the story. Orcs hating elves. Blacks hating whites. Nazis hating everyone. Mushrooms hating turtles.

If you are playing a video game with a lot of freedom of movement and decision-making....and YOU, as the player, choose to only kill minority characters......YOU, as a person, probably have some racist tendencies. But even that is still reaching, because maybe you are just doing it for dark, sarcastic, edgy humor to make your friends in the room gasp. You would never actually (in real life) behave in such a way.

If people are 100% responsible for how they think/feel/react to negative stimuli......then should the people who give negative stimuli ever be punished or held accountable for making someone feel bad, even though those people are ultimately responsible for allowing themselves to feel bad in the first place???

Like comedians being asked to apologize for an insensitive joke. Game developers being asked to censor/alter a game. A movie director being asked to cut a scene. A sports team being asked to change their name. Etc.

I'm seeing this trend in society a lot lately, and it's very interesting.

Exactly. It's the laziness of the animation that leaves a bad taste in my mouth, even moreso than the fact that it just aesthetically LOOKS bad on top of it all.

The animators and studio were clearly just trying to save money and see what they could get away with showing, and also see what audiences would be "okay" with.

Hardcore Spider-Man fans will just be happy if the story is good....and not worry so much about how it "looks"....but that logic is a slippery slope.

If your movie is an animated film.....why NOT make the animation as good as you can?

Solid animation doesn't rely on shortcuts, and frames-per-second is every animator's laziness shortcut crutch. And it's painfully obvious that they chose to go with a lower framerate to save time and money. Kinda insulting (even if many people with low standards are "okay" with it).

Scanner Darkly was rotoscope animation that was very fluid and pleasant to look at.

Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse looks like it was supposed to be an amazing looking animated film.....but there was a processing error that literally erased every 2 frames of animation.

I keep hearing a lot of hype around this movie on websites and previews and such.......and I saw the trailer. I saw some extended footage of it. And I saw that short-film at the end of Venom.......and.....it looks like hot garbage.

It's very confusing.....because it looks like they are trying to be cartoony and semi-Pixar realistic (kinda like an Overwatch movie)........but the animation seriously looks like it's running at 5 frames per second. So jittery and hard to look at for too long.

The backgrounds will slide by super smooth, but the characters jutter like bad claymation.

Does anyone else see this?

Aren't they sexualizing EVERYONE these days? Young men, young women, even older people are now having overly perverted or sexual characters as some kind of beacon for living a "free-spirited" life.

This has been the way entertainment has been for decades now.

Personally, I only find it problematic when people on TV can never seem to enjoy a perfectly monogamous long-term relationship. Kids get it drilled into their heads that it's normal and HEALTHY to be whoring around before they're even out of high school. Dating a new person each week. Having sex with each of them. Cheating on your partner. Being controlling. Being a cuck. Forgiving them. Never forgiving them. Saying you "love" someone after only knowing them a few weeks. It's just juvelile disgusting behavior that is very psychologically damaging for young minds.

People need to bring back morality into our entertainment when it comes to HEALTHY displays of human relationships.

Also getting real tired of all the sitcoms and shows where the wife treats her husband like total shit around everyone, and it becomes like this running gag that he's fat, bald, and dumb, and she's this flawless beacon of beauty and intelligence who only stays with him out of pity and because he's sometimes charming sorta.

It also doesn't help that the internet is literally raising our kids today instead of the parents (assuming they even have parents).

Free will has never existed.

We are all programmed before birth with things like "instincts" and "hormones" and genetic predispositions. And that's without even getting into neurological conditions none of us had any say in.

It's also important to note that NONE of us had any say in who our parents would be, what country we would be born in, what community we would live in, what teachers we would have, what we would look like, etc.

Those are all extremely important things that literally determine almost everything about us.

One person marking a post puts it in the queue, multiple people marking it just moves it to the front of the line faster, but the mod who gets it is going to respond to it the same way regardless.

If all it took was mob mentality and mass-market to get people modded, posters like ICOYAR would never be able to keep a topic on this board longer than 20 minutes before it got deleted.
