You can turn enemy encounters off? That sounds really enticing and might get me to actually play a turn based RPG again, but won't you just end up super underleveled for boss battles?

Cross's level-ups are tied almost exclusively to defeating bosses, with the first few encounters after a boss also giving small stat ups. It's basically impossible to be underleveled, as this also works across your entire 45-character party.

Maybe I'm just used to the base game which intentionally gives you cards that completely and utterly break the game, but stalling just doesn't seem that valuable.

Stalling allows you to draw your entire deck consequence-free, and the bees give you as much tribute fodder as you need.

My favorite combination is undying slink. The tail gets undying and you get both back to your hand giving you infinite sac fodder.

I had a Reptile Fecundity totem that turned the Skink into a 1-card infinite bone generation, and if it gets struck, you get a tail in the hand in addition to on the board.

Indie games are the future. Obviously the AAA releases still have their place (the modern Resident Evils are the shining example of this), but for the majority of the industry, they're vehicles to make as much money as they possibly can.

I'm fairly certain it's completely impossible to lose if you play it even once, disregarding flying enemies. The dams also have the beehive and reincarnation sigils, meaning you get them back plus bees, just like the beehive. You can stall out until you draw your entire deck and just obliterate you opponent's board when you're ready.

I very rarely replay games.

One of the greatest action games ever made, and the second best Resident Evil behind 4. It pays tributes to all of the series' most iconic moments with sky-high production values, and it's also just fun to play. It's Resident Evil, so it's going to be stupid, but as long as you're okay with stupid, you'll have a fantastic time. Definitely play with a partner if you can.

The primitive graphics are more of a ding with horror then other genres IMO.

The camera angles and controls are also issues.

I thought the same thing, but I got used to it. Play 2 before 3, obviously.

You should definitely play the original, it's the best classic Resident Evil. 3R is still a great game, but it's obviously got nothing on 2R.
