It's pretty much a 1:1 remake of the original with a lot of QOL improvements. It's legitimately one of the best remakes ever released, and is borderline indistinguishable from something Valve itself would release.

I like the part where snipers are fucking immortal and kill you in a matter of seconds, very good game!

Can also agree Black Mesa was a ton of fun.

Beat the game. Final boss was kind of terrible. On the whole, the game was clearly groundbreaking for 1998, but the jank is absolutely overwhelming at times.

When I played it years ago, the default jump height was absurdly low to encourage crouch jumping. Like there was a bit in the beginning where there's a glass wall. I couldn't jump over the six-inch partition the glass set in. So the platforming sections of the game were obnoxiously difficult. I had to go into the file settings and change the height manually.

And this is up to you if it's a change for the worse, but it's much, much more difficult than HL1 is.

This was a long, long time ago, they might have changed it.

How long are Opposing Force and Blue Shift?

Opposing force is probably 4 to 6 hours. Lots of fun and some cool weapons. Blue Shift is really short and average. Like two hours.

Half Life killed my beloved Doom clones. Even Doom 3 didn't want to be a Doom game because of Half Life.
