Oh 100%. I played the whole game honourably and was very irked when the game gave me no choice then. It already annoyed me that the game was acting as though I was being dishonourable on certain missions when I absolutely wasn't but that mission you mention there was really the worst offender.

I'd said before that it would take mass refunds for this to happen, I'm guessing enough purchases in regions without PSN were being refunded that Sony backtracked.

It's phenomenal, I've been taking my time playing it, don't want to rush.

They put me in various sports and I'd have to do one season then I could quit. Had to be in one sport though for the physical activity, I couldn't just be a lump.

The sport I stuck with the longest was various martial arts.

I do the same with my daughter and so far she's been sticking with Hapkido but I'm pretty sure she's going to drop it in the next year or so for competitive swimming as she seems to enjoy swimming far more than martial arts.

Exactly, not only would we find out the potential accuracy of the numbers but we'd find out the context of each arrest. For instance let's say the number is accurate but 99% of the non-students arrested are teachers, medics, friends of students in the protest, journalists, ect... Instead of "professional protesters" or "outside agitators", that absolutely destroys the narrative the cops, NY Post and Eric Adams are pushing.

Im fairly certain TC is correct and there was a period of time where evident jokes were fine, the past few years at least, and its reversed course.

Years ago it was a bit of a "game" people would play to try to get people to say they were under 13 so they'd get banned. Saying you're under 13 has been one of the easiest ways to get your account nuked since forever.

That's always been the case. When my account turned 13 I even asked one of the lead mods (don't recall who, it was like 8 years ago) if now that it was impossible for me to be underage if it was safe to make such jokes and the mod even with that being the case my account would still likely be deleted.

Joking about being under 13 has always been incredibly risky since it often would just result in your account not even being banned but just straight up closed with no appeal.

Sounds like the cat is sick to be honest.

I was thinking you were trying to create an account in a region that PSN doesn't exist. If you're in the UK well then I'm sorry, it's absolutely insane that you're required to give that kind of data for freakin' age verification of all things.

That age verification thing in the UK has been going on for it looks like over a year now. I'm guessing some legislation is forcing it in some way, just like that crap in some States where they're requiring people to give their ID to porn sites.

Try an account in a region that doesn't require age verification. The fact that it uses Yoti tells me that's a UK account that's trying to be created.

Also a facial scan isn't location data but it's also biometric data that I wouldn't want to give to companies. Absolutely insane the kind of data governments want us to give to corporations nowadays.

Really wouldn't surprise me if what ends up happening is if you live in a region where you cannot have PSN you'll still be able to play without it but if you are in a region where you can have PSN then you'll be required to have PSN.

It's the main reason for the outrage. For those countries that don't have access to PSN, they lose the ability to play the game they purchased. The games never should've been available for purchase in countries that don't have PSN in the first place. Anyway, if they then try to create a dummy account they risk the possibility of that account being investigated at some point and banned.

They aren't upset because they're being inconvenienced, they're upset because making a dummy account is very risky and they're unwilling to risk their Helldivers profile. Those who do live in countries with access to PSN are leaving bad reviews either out of protest or because they're whining.

Has Sony even made a statement yet about people playing in regions that don't have PSN access? Legit question, I don't know.

This is something that is industry wide at this point, the time to complain about it was about a decade ago when a concerted outrage and actual following through on the outrage would have actually been able to change things.

At this point? Nothing is going to change, Sony already knows that the people upset right now are going to be good little gamers and make their Sony account if they don't already have one and will link it and then keep playing. The number of people who will actually quit the game over this is pretty tiny. It's all just a pointless outrage over a minor annoyance.
