Oh of course, I'm not disputing that at all. If you notice, he didn't actually explain why he did that anyway, just that it wasn't the reason he called a penalty.

but like you said his hand was on the flag already so I'm not sold on the idea that he initiated contact and that WAS the reason he called the penalty

How to go from 1st to 8th in one week: go 2-12. I wonder if this was the single worst set of entries for a week for anyone who's ever made a full week of picks in this, I'll have to check. If you got 8 this week you're feeling really good. One person got double digits though, @LeonhartFour ! He leaps into 3rd! Biggest upset (That was picked) this week is a tie, @Sorozone was the only one to pick Denver, and Leon was the only one to pick the Titans. Homerism, hooooo!

Thursday, November 11th
Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins!

Sunday, November 14th
1 PM ET
Atlanta Falcons @ Dallas Cowboys
New Orleans Saints @ Tennessee Titans
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts
Cleveland Browns @ New England Patriots
Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
Detroit Lions @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Football Team

4 PM ET
Carolina Panthers @ Arizona Cardinals
Minnesota Vikings @ Los Angeles Chargers
Philadelphia Eagles @ Denver Broncos
Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers

8 PM

Monday, November 15th

I ran out of edits, but the last thing I want to say is, ultimately, I get there's a fundamental divide here between whether or not it is someone's personal choice. That's the crux of it all right? Some people think it is, some people think it isn't in this case. You fall on the former, I fall on the latter. But I just mainly wanted to make it known that I haven't come to the conclusion I have based on some pre-existing beliefs, religious or otherwise. I see most people catching the virus now being unvaccinated, I see stuff like sorozone posted about how so so few people were adversely affected by the J&J vaccine and what demographics they were in, and I see tons of opposing people not taking it because of beliefs that have no factual basis, I put 2 and 2 and 2 together and go "Hey sounds like the vaccine is the best option."

If rodgers or someone else wants to put together a compelling argument based on scientific evidence for why a non-exempt person is better off not taking the vaccine, and why the people potentially being exposed are better off in such a scenario too, I am always willing to listen. Rodgers' argument is not that.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond stevr. I will try to touch on everything best I can.

First thing, re:experts. I must quite disagree that it's not binding. I do think there is a little wiggle room, but the fact that the virus is recent and unprecedented does not automatically mean that we should be trusting joe rogan and our spouses over people with actual medical degrees whose jobs it is to try and nail this thing down asap. Just because they don't know as much about this as they might a normal virus doesn't mean they know literally nothing. And considering how -to my understanding at least- a vast majority of the people now still catching the virus are unvaccinated people, I'd say they did a pretty good job showing us why it's their job and why we should be listening to what they have to say!

Re:Anti-vax and allergies. No, I don't think aaron rodgers is completely anti-vax, and I don't think he "is" an idiot, but I do think he is acting "like" an idiot in this case. Perhaps it was a poor choice of words on my part, a lot of people today sort of equate "anti-covid vaccine" with "completely anti-vax." and I know that's not exactly correct. But as Sorozone pointed out, the odds of rodgers being affected by the clotting issue is likely tons more miniscule than the odds of still catching and even dying from covid after getting the vaccine. It's like zone said, the reasoning just doesn't add up. "I'm allergic" well there's a 3rd one "It's unsafe" well the numbers do show it's infinitely more safe than what you're doing...what's the response to that? What makes sense besides "I just don't want to take the vaccine"? It's so inconsistent that, I honestly wouldn't fault someone if they DID think rodgers was completely anti-vax. Because again, I go back to: If he lied about being vaxxed here, why should we take him at his word for literally anything anymore?

Re:best actions. When I'm referring to "they" i'm talking about people who are perfectly qualified to take it but refuse to for personal reasons. I of course understand not getting it if you're someone who has gotten a legitimate medical exemption (like rodgers has not, which is another reason I'm skeptical of his allergy). I'll give you this, though. I came off as haughty and completely sure of what's the right course of action, which is no different than rodgers in this situation, so I'll admit my hypocrisy there. But there's a reason stuff like homeopathy is called pseudoscience, and that's what rodgers himself flat out quoted. So at least in my case, vs his, mine is backed up by actual numbers given to us by people who know what they're doing.

Also, perhaps you did not mean it this way, or perhaps I am reading it wrong, but the tone of your last statement about "following the crowd because it protects you from criticism" sounds kind of presumptuous. I'm sure some people do, but people are capable of using their minds to decide for themselves that the crowd is actually right. Being a "free thinker" as rodgers is claiming to be isn't inherently a bad thing, and joining the crowd after thinking does not make someone not a free thinker; but when you do it because you think it's right just because it's different, that's when it becomes a problem. And I do believe rodgers is like this because of the very fact that he brought being a free thinker into this as if it's some sort of defense. He is automatically dismissing everyone who's "bought in" to the vaccine as some sort of sheeple (woke mob), based on his own non-scientific opinion. So you may think me to be someone who is blanket attributing...attributes, based on my own feelings, but I look at aaron rodgers, and i hear lots of discourse in my area (which is predominately red)to actually base my attributions on (IE it might not be everyone doing it, but it's certainly not just "What I want to believe" either) repeating the same stuff rodgers is, and all I see is that rodgers is doing the exact thing you're saying i'm doing, which is automatically dismissing others' opinions based on his own. And yet he's the one being stood up for while I'm being accused?

The thing is, while I am certainly willing to entertain the idea that he is being truthful about being allergic among other things, can we really fault someone for thinking he is just a liar completely? He lied about being vaxxed. What reason does anyone have to believe anything other than "he'll say anything to justify not getting the vaccine"?

I don't think rodgers is lying about protocols; I just think he's an idiot and is trusting his friends and his beliefs rather than the actual experts in the field, like so many other people are doing with covid. He's spouting much of the same stuff every other anti-vaxxer is, "my body my choice" etc. I also think it's questionable whether he's telling the truth about being allergic to 2 of the main vaccines.

My other main issue goes into that hand in hand; he claims he's allergic to 2 and didn't trust the 3rd one. Well, the 3rd one was pulled iirc for a short time for an issue that affected very few people and -I believe- was mainly pulled for public perception reasons rather than the issue actually affecting enough people to justify pulling it. But even if I'm wrong on that which is perfectly possible and I realize that, it was put back on and approved and has been back on for 6 months plus. So there really is no justification for using that as a valid excuse when the issue was obviously dealt with.

I also think it's bull**** that he claims he didn't lie when, yes, he actually literally did. The question was "Did you get the vaccine?" and his answer was "Yeah (as in, yes I did get the vaccine), I've been immunized (This matters zero.) He answered a specific question with "Yes, I did do the thing you asked" and he didn't, regardless of follow up qualifications. So yes, he did straight up lie. And he knew what he was doing. And I find that terrible.

It's the same crap everyone else who doesn't want the vaccine pulls; they reach for anything and everything they can hide behind to try and justify a course of action that is bad. When someone goes "I presented my case to a bunch of people and they all thought I was crazy" then at some point the person needs to look in the mirror and consider who's actually the crazy one.

If I have this straight, he gets paid tens of millions of dollars with the lowest risk of concussions of any position on the field outside of kickers, punters, and probably long snappers, but he hasn't taken a vaccine that has zero possibility of paying him anything... and you think he ought to value these things with equal concern (which doesn't even get into his reason for not taking it that seems perfectly legitimate as far as I can see)?

Were you paid anywhere nearly as handsomely before your brain turned to mush? If so, then I think that's a fair criticism. Otherwise, I don't think Rodgers is the moron here.

Started listening to it now - he explains his reasoning for this very early in the interview if you're genuinely curious.
I did know abouat his reasoning for the 3rd one and it's bad and dumb adn excuses nothing imo

I have definitely heard meta/metagame used a lot when determining most effective strategies/countering those strategies.

Honestly the thing that bugs me the most and is giving me the most hesitation to see Lasa's side of this topic is...

Well, like it was said, the topic worked. Lasa apologized and admitted they shouldn't have been such a dick about it both before and after the facts came out and should've done more research, and even got an apology from someone in return.

Knowing that, it's really hard to think that if such a topic gets someone to change an objectively bad behavior, both in relation to themselves and with others (checking sources better, interacting better with others) that it wasn't a good thing to do. Like it sucks it had to come to this but if Lasa had just done this as soon as Stan Lee's thing came out and he went "oh crap, well I guess I was wrong this entire time, I'm sorry I was a dick to people for showing me how my opinion was wrong" then this topic wouldn't have felt "necessary" from biscuit's point of view.

I guess a better way to put it, would be Biscuit probably doesn't have the clear cut moral highground to outright shame someone from this argument, but they have more of the highground to do so than Lasa does to be upset that it was done.

Mr Lasastryke posted...
you were still arguing about the MJ shit in the other topic after you created this one so this is bullshit.

literally the only reason you made this topic is because you thought i "deserved" to be shamed in a separate topic for making bad posts in the baldwin topic.
Unless my eyes are deceiving me, there are exactly 2 posts from biscuit in that topic after this topic was made, and both were explaining the reasoning behind the MJ thing to someone who wasn't even involved in the argument. There was no attempt to escalate with you at all after that point by biscuit in that topic. The "discussion" he wanted to get out of the topic wasn't literally anything MJ related, just the pointless insults and escalation.

This is absolutely not bulls***.

This was a pretty low scoring week, most people got 9 or fewer. Leading the way with 12 wins though is @Bartzyx ! Good job! Upset of the week, we have a tie between the giants and the bengals with only 4 pickers apiece! No one had both of them together.

Goodell reiterates that the investigation into WFT won't be released, citing anonymity of those who came forward.

Okay but just release the emails and blot out the names except for the people who were at fault?
